Partial Controller support?

The store page says partial controller support. Which controllers is supported with chrono trigger? I have a xbox 360 wireless controler. IS that conpatible or do i need xpadder or something to bind the keys?

I have a Xbox 360 wired controller, and it works nativelly.

I think the wireless one will work too.

Partial Controller Support on Steam means that controllers and keyboards both work and there are points where using a keyboard may be more optimal.

In the case of this game, when characters are introduced the character naming screen is optimized for the keyboard. That's about the only reason for this flag.

Try updating your controller drivers and making sure the controller is engaged when the game loads. This is a fairly common controller 20% of the players are using.

I eventually used a newer xbox360 controller i purchased last month at walmart. Worked fine for me, was even a third party brand by pnp or something.

It's possible it got tied to an updated driver when you used it. :/

Yea, i imagine so. I remember i had issues with a logitech controller because it needed a firmware update. If there using an older xbox360 controller, they should check the website of the controller's maker, and see if they got any firmware updates..

XB One controller works flawlessly. I think the reason it's listed as partial support is that you have to use the keyboard to enter names if you rename characters. That's the only thing that I couldn't do on a game pad. Otherwise, I've played the whole game on the pad from the couch. When I wanted to rename someone, I asked my daughter (who's playing with me) to run over and type it in :)

Xbox One/360/PS4/SwitchPro and steam controller works.

Partial Controller Support as defined by Valve is the instance in which any part of a controller supported game requires a keyboard.

Naming characters in this game requires a keyboard, hence the label.
