[SPOILERS] The Black Omen [Quest Help]
Hi!

So, unlike the majority of the forum being cluttered with complaints, I actually need advice/assistance with quests. I've just completed all of the side quests (I'm pretty sure! lol) and decided that I like Lucca's back story, but now I'm stuck deciding...what should I do about the Black Omen? Is there a more profitable way to go about this other than charging in Present Day Truce and beating the crap out of the insane Queen and Lavos?

I just concluded the Present King Quest where you save Nadia's dad from the (yet again) fake Chancellor Fiend and Melchior creates the armor from the Rainbow Shell (I picked the Helms with the idea to Charm one Dress out of the boss) but the internet has some conflicting information on The Black Omen.

If I start beating it from the earliest point in history and charm the boss and build up from history, can I actually get more the Prism Dresses and good items?

Also, is there anything else I should do before I go and beat the game? Anything to collect, cutscenes to see, sidequests to do, neat little things to do or see etc etc? I haven't played and beaten this game in a while so I'd like to get the most out of this play through, if possible.

I know a lot of you guys don't like the port, but if you could help me out here, I'd really appreciate it man. :)

Thanks!

Eh, I don't think you need to mention opinions of the port since the topic isn't even about it. I don't see the problem with asking a valid question. The forum is there for discussion and asking for help and etc anyway. Can't all be fighting and etc. I hope you'll get the answer you look for.

Well, I know some of you guys feel really passionately about this port (which is understandable) and might think posting outside of disapproval might send the wrong message of your stance, so I thought maybe putting that into the OP might help clear up the thread or make them posting here easier or something. :)

If the guy at The End of Time no longer mentions any sidequests then you're pretty much done. You can, however, do the Black Omen 3 times from start to finish and beat the queen 3 times. This allows you to charm a lot of useful items, including tabs, without having to grind back and forth through the Omen. Simply get to Lavos in the present first after beating the queen and escape, and then do so again in medieval times and again in the dark ages. Is mostly worth it to grind some levels, get whatever tech you haven’t unlocked yet and charm a bunch of tabs from panels and such.

I'm not sure I entirely understand due to the Lavos mention. So I first go to the Black Omen in Present Time and go to the Queen and beat her, then escape and head to the Medieval Times and jump back into The Black Omen, beat the Queen again, escape and then jump back to the Future (apololypse) and then do it once more and escape, correct? I should never actually make it to Lavos, right?

After you beat the queen in the present, you get to fight Lavos' exterior. After you beat it, it remains dead, regardless of when you come to try and fight it again, and you get the chance to escape. After you escape, go back to 600 AD and do the whole Black Omen again until you get to Lavos' husk just waiting open. Escape again, go back to 12000 BC and do the Omen one last time.

The idea is that, since you beat the Omen in the future (present actually) it remains intact in each of the past instances of it, so you have another chance to go through it and get everything again when going back to 600 AD and then again in 12000 BC. So long as you start in the future-most instance of the Omen and then go back one time period at a time.

Ah! I get it now! Time travel...you tricky but yet rather simple dog, you! I'll go try it now, thank you Don Lobo! I appreciate it! :)

Make sure to charm items off of the Mutant bosses and Panels since they are one-time only fights and will remain defeated during the second and third trip.
