For me, the final act and destruction of her was a pleasure to watch and you can see in her remaining eye (after the attack) that she knows full well that this is the end!
Rightly or wrongly, having to finish a 'Big Boss' at the end of a game is of no value (certainly not for me anyway). Being left up in the air a little just adds to the overall experience and maybe suggests there is more to come. Maybe a follow on, who knows?
