Stuck in "A New Suit "

Just started the above level where I have to choose from 3 different bits of partial amour. When I choose one and try it out I cannot get back to my previous state and I can't proceed in the game. If I try the stilts, I go up and can jump over high walls but I can't disable or switch off the stilts. No button seems to work and its the same with all 3 pieces of amour. I can get them to work but I can't switch them off and the professor who is helping me just stands there. No matter what I do, I cant advance in the game, its like its stuck in this loope.
I've reloaded game a few times and verified the files. Is there something I'm missing? I've followed the instructions to the letter but now I'm stuck. Help.

When you choose a contraption you have to complete the obstacle course.

Battle Walkers.
Double-Tapping the space bar on a PC enables/disables the Walkers.

Climb up and over and shoot the two targets and then climb over the walkway they were standing on and proceed on through the course and drop down to where there is a button to push, there's also a weapon upgrade kit there too. Push the button and drop into a crawl space and you end up exiting through the shooting range.

You complete the same course no matter which contraption you pick. Just different ways of going through it.

Battle walkers are the best choice imo.

Thank you for trying to help but I still have the problem.
With the walker I can jump over the first wall that gets me into the shooting range and I can extend upwards and shoot the two cardboard natzi's. But no matter how many times I try I cannot jump over the next wall to get to the next target. The game wont allow me to exit the shooting range, so I'm stuck. I tried the other two bits of amour and in each case the game allows me to get so far and then stops. In each case I cannot leave the room so again I'm stuck.
So it looks like I cannot continue with this game, pity 'cos I was really enjoying it up to this point. Looks like I'm going to have to play a different game tonight and delete this one. Thanks again.

That's a strange one for sure, and sometimes it takes a few goes to get BJ to climb up...

But once you climb up you can Sprint-jump across the remaining platforms you'll see a circular opening that you can Sprint jump to and when you go through it you drop into the area where there's a button you press that opens a trapdoor in the floor that let's you drop down and crawl out into the shooting range and you exit up the stairs back to where the Prof was standing.

Here's my vid just skip to 223.26 (3:43:20) for this section and if you let it play on you'll see where you get the upgrade for the battle walkers.

Thank you for the videos but I seem to have cured the problem. Last night in frustration I uninstalled the game and thought that would be it, but today I decided to give it another try as I've gotten so far into the game. The saves from the game were still available to me so I loaded up the "new suit" level and now I can use all three pieces of amour with no problem. This is so weird. I validated the files of the previous game many times and still it wouldn't let me finish that part of the game. But today I sailed through it without issues. Goes to show validating game files doesn't always cure the problem but a fresh install does ( in this case anyway ).
