game not opening, vulkan-1.dll missing fix
Hi so if you are experencing the same issue I was here's the fix until they fix it.

IF you attempt to run the game through steam and nothing at all happens: go into the local files and attempt to run the exe directly.
IF you get a system error stating in some form that "vulkan-1.dll was not found"

IF THIS DOSEN'T HAPPEN I DONT KNOW HOW TO HELP, sorry.

The fix: dowload and install the vulkan SDK from LunarG at lunarg.com/vulkan-sdk/
After install you can find the dll in C:/vulkansdk /1.0.version.whatever /source /lib (not not lib32, that wont work)
COPY the vulkan-1.dll from that folder and paste it into the games install folder.

IF IT ASKS YOU IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE A FILE IN THE GAMES INSTALL FOLDER DONT DO IT, YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT WORSE ISSUE

I guess Vulkan got uninstalled when, as an early adopter, the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update removed it. Anyway, I'm back in business and shooting Nazis as it should be.

That would be a good explination, but downloading the sdk didn't fix the issue. It was copying the file into the games' install folder that fixed it.

AMD and Nvidia both package the vulkan runtimes in their driver install folders, so you could reinstall it that way. Microsoft updates or service packs used to mess with opengl so I'm not shocked this is happening.

Yes they destribute the runtime files but i was unable to find the specific dll needed through any of the drivers/patches nvidia gave me. I think this was more of an issue with machine games install and a false positive occuring with steams file verification. Not so much with MS updates. But yeah if the dll turns up in an amd or nvidia driver folder you could try that.

That's because the dll is inside the vulkan runtime installer.
