Can't disable dev mode after update
I just updated the game and went to play. Upon clicking continue it told me that I would not get any achievements as I was running in development console mode. I have not done anything to enable it, in fact I did not know it was a feature however I can't disable it because I don't know why it is enabled in the first place. Hopefully someone can be of some help here

Same thing happend with me today, also when i did a restart - it said, that my savefile is corrupted, although i maxed the game out, so not a big deal, but still...

Check your launch options. Did you perhaps add this at some point:

+devMode_enable 1

Get rid of it so, otherwise you could try adding:

+devMode_enable 0

Also instead of selecting continue from the menu, you could try loading an older save to see if the problem is specific to that save.

Turns out my whole game is just so buggy. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to this game for so long. I can't disable the console at all so achievements are just disabled full stop. Making a new save causes issues and even in a new progression slot messes with my old slot. All cut scenes are buggy, I went to speak to Fergus into the ammo room and it just shows me speaking to him and cuts to the next playable scene missing way too much dialog. Just completely unplayable.

The console is enabled by default and isn't the same thing as devmode. Having the console enabled shouldn't be giving you that warning.

The prematurely ending cutscenes thing sounds like you have com_skipKeyPressOnLoadScreens set to 1 instead of 0.

Sorry the game is giving you so much trouble, that sucks.

Ok I did have com_skipKeyPressOnLoadScreens as I copied a command from a post for skipping the start screen. I have removed the from my launch options now so hopefully that should be resolved. I actually uninstalled the game but I am reinstalling it now. Maybe if I have a fresh copy of the game I can avoid the issues as they seemed to arrise from the saves being from 2 different versions of the game. I am hopeful although I know many others have issues with the game. Thank you for your help so far 0mnicydle :D

No problem.

All you need to skip the intro is having this in your launch options:

+com_skipBootSequence 1

Also, as an Nvidia user, I was in a world of hurt until I added these to the launch options:

+r_disableSteamOverlay 1 +r_enableAsyncCompute 0

Made a huge difference in stability and reducing visual glitches.

Good luck!

I have the same problem (always devmode), the windows cursor sticks after opening the console at least once (until game restart), I can't change the default keybindings which are bullcrap to begin with (F for grenade and mouse3 for melee?). I even modified \base\default_sp.cfg and it did nothing. I even found some notes from devs to other devs while I was trying to fix the damn game. It seems so rushed it's ridiculous.

Similar problem here. New Laptop, installed game. Game told me that my Nvidia drivers are too old. It still stared though. I tried to change the resolution to 4k and the game crashed.

After reboot I updated the drivers. Then launched the game again.
"you're using console/devmode and therefore achievements are deactivated."
"no connection to steam"
I have to adjust the brightness and then I can't see any menu. There is just the ESC button to quit the game.

Repairing the game didn't work. I'm trying to reinstall it. If that doesn't help, I'll try the launch commands.

I tried to go 4K and mine crashed also. Experiencing the same exact thing. Trying to reinstall now after trying everything else.

Ok still the same here!

from one Day to the other it starts with the message about DEV Mode and the only thing i can do is select the brightness and the EXIT from the Game.
Tryed all things...reinstall, repair, Command Line things etc...
Nothing works!
Still got the problem with more than one GPU (Dedicated and! Onboard) that i had always disable the Onboard GPU) the Game crash with the Error "Crash dump"
But NOW the Game is always in DEV Mode and can't play anymore.
Since three Days....
Also reinstall the Nvidia Driver, but NOTHING!

Realy sucks!!!

Suffering from the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Played the game until the gunslinger update from 14. of December. Now sluggish as hell, no matter what resolution or graphic quality I choose. Also the text messes up. Had no problems so far, but since this idiotic update, all is screwed.
Bad game development I call this.
I tried everything: reinstall, drivers, delete the config files, remove the base folder, no edge window etc. all you can imagine in the posts. nothing worked.
sucks big time!!

I got it fixed last night and heres exactly what I did. 1) Disabled Cloud Services for Steam. 2) Find your base folder for Wolfenstein on YOUR computer, not through steam. 3) Open that folder and you can either try and delete the "config" file or, do what I did, and deleted practically everything except my save slots. I turned my steam cloud back on, and loaded the game perfectly. It made me adjust brightness like it was my first time playing, but once I loaded, my save slot was there. Instead of clicking "Load", I clicked "R" and loaded through progression slot. Backup your files incase something should mess up, but it was relatively simple just took some time figuring out.

I CONFIRM THE FIX!
1) Disabled Cloud Services for Steam for this game in the settings.
2) Deleted the whole Machine Folder (you can probably keep your save files)
And now it works! I even switched the Resolution to 4k now!

Thanks Powerful. Thank you very much.
