1. Somehow, this incredible suit of armor allows Blasko to walk despite being essentially disabled and take a gunshot to the face at point blank range... But you still have to have 50 hit points because it wasn't enough to remind you constantly about BJ's health through his incessant inner monologue.
2. Apparently the clear answer to all of BJ's eoes was not additional surgery rest, facing his inner demons and doubts, but decapitation. Then we can finally have 100 full hit points, despite the game being halfway through.
The implication is that the armor let you stack up extra armor as compensation for the low health, whereas the ubersoldat body is just better all around and not damaged goods.
It just seems like such a stupid stretch to justify a dumb health limit for half a game, when I guarantee that leaving it for the wheelchair intro only, just so Blasko could hop back up for the next missions at full 100hp would have bothered absolutely NO ONE.
From a narrative perspective, it was just a dumb twist - fine - but the effect on gameplay is the greater problem because it creates two halves to the game that make it play as though half the development team wanted it one way, and the other half wanted it the other. Just give us 100hp and health and armor upgrades to collect in missions; at least that would be useful over Star Cards or toys.
*Bonus problem: so we're just going to have to deal with two tone Blasko, now? Sorry, it just looks like a really bad mod and the author couldn't have been bothered to use the same textures.
That, would have been an AMAZING game. Running around with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ strength screaming MEE JAYYYY!! BEE JAYY!!! MEE BEE JAYY!!
