The Hammergewehr is way too weak.

And I feel that it's a bug. I can shoot the same enemy more than twice and it still won't kill unless it's all headshots. This weapon is more prone to getting me killed than doing any killing. It barely staggers enemies as well.

All of the heavy weapons are practically useless on higher difficulties, especially Hammergewehr. It's way too inaccurate, and the slow movement speed kills you almost instantly in a lot of situations.

Lasergewehr is the only good one. All others have either slow projectile speed or fire rate is too slow. On higher difficulties they are all a bad pick only because of the movement penalty.

With right mouse button held to spin it up faster I find it great! Chews through the bad guys!

This. I beat the game on its hardest non 'mein leben' difficulty and the 'alt' fire mode is ridiculous at closer ranges. Chews through ammo really fast but all the heavy weapons seem disposable anyways. Dual scoped assault rifles were my go to when I had the ammunition however.

Hammergewehr is my favorite gun lol. I love how it decapitates and even explodes enemies completely. Least favorite is the Ubergewehr because it takes too long to charge compared to the other heavy weapons.
