Constrictor harness not working?

I am doing the Manhattan Bunker über kommander side quest. I have the constrictor harness but it is not working and I cannot even reach the commander. When I click on the "hint" button, it gives me two waypoints, inside of a small duct and under a cart, where you both need the constrictor harness, but nothing is working and I can't get into either the duct or under the cart and I cannot finish this side mission. I have exited the game and tried multiple times.

Did anyone else experience this? Why isn't this contrictor harness doing its job?

You have to crouch and look a certain way at the space you can go through. It's weird.

Are you crouching and look directly at the opening while moving forward?

Oh goodness, I just loaded my save again and managed to make it work by looking down directly at the entrance of the duct... I feel super stupid! Thank you for your quick replies!
