How do you leave Uberkommandant maps?

So I whacked one of the Uberkommandants and left the mission location (the Nuclear Bunker) through the death card pick up (when it gives you an option whether to return back to the submarine). However, then I figured that I forgot to pick up one collectible (Max's toy) at this level and went back. I killed everyone on the level, but there is no way to return to the submarine now! There is no death card as the Uberkommandant is dead already and there is no option to open the door out of the bunker. There is literally no way to leave the level. Does anyone know what to do? I am playing the PC version, so telling me console controller buttons is meaningless to me. Please help!

Open the mission screen (J), then press R

or you just restart the mission or use key on door or lock pick or ....

For Xbox users you enter the mission tab and press X. I know this is a pc forum but this is the first link that pops up in Google so I fugured I post this here as well.
