I was planning to buy this game then I got curious after I saw the polarised reviews. Reading into the comments, it appears that the alt-right neo nazis are triggered by some anti nazi thing in the story and are out in full force downrating the game.
So would it be safe to say the game is great and the negative reviews are just autistic screeching of neo nazis?

Uhm no...and no. Why dont you read kotakuinaction on reddit to see peoples issues. Its not the game its the marketing and it derives from freedom of speech not defending nazis.

The reviews arent great because the game is full of bugs, some of which prevent people from playing at all.

Hell I cant select my resolution without it messing up unless i run borderless window but then it doesnt render at the selected resolution which i know for a fact because there isnt a chance in hell im hitting 300FPS at 4k fully maxed out on a 5820k and a gtx 1080fe

Get your facts right before you try to start arguments...and while we are on the topic 99% of the people whining are TEENAGERS. Kids...kids who arent even old enough to actually buy the game.

It has boatloads of issues, and is overall a worse game than the previous games. They also blatantly cut out chunks of it to sell as DLC later.

The problem isn't the parts where you're shooting nazis, the problem are the parts where you're not.

There are many haters and bigots who have emerged from the swamp to spew their bile in here and to downrate the game. I have noticed that a lot of them have zero ratings on Steam, indicating that they made accounts specifically to do all of the above.

The irony is that they are occasionally right for the wrong reasons. The game is indeed badly written, badly voice-acted, its characters are caricatures and its political statements crude. I blame the devs for exposing themselves and the rest of us to condemnation from the far right that isn’t entirely without merit. It’s a huge mistake.

Why would "alt right people" give $60 for the game in the first place? If you're implying they are buying purely to downvote, that's retarded. If you're suggesting they buy, downvote and refund you can't do that because steam auto-deletes when a game is refunded.

If it has a low score it deserves it because on the game itself, people knew what it was and they bought it so people who didn't agree with the politics didn't buy it.

Well, I'm not convinced yet that the game is actually bad. It has very positive reviews all over, and about 70% positive on steam. Then there are a 30% very vocal negative, in most comments of these guys there are "SJW" and "antifa" and stuff like that, really makes me think these negatives are just buthurt over the anti neo nazi theme of the game.

The problem is that you are forced to play as a communist. Your father isnt even a nazi, hes just a white christian male and hes worse then the nazis. The fat girl similarly struggle with her beyond evil mother making both the white father and the white mother the height of evil. This is a game that targets mainly young adults who will play a game where the camera is deliberately moved over to first person view in each scene where the white parent tortures the victims.

It might have worked 20 years ago but today it only make you hate the people who try to manipulate you with it's cartoonishly evil characters and blatant modern day political references.

The nazis were defeated by white, christian, nationalists and patriots who fought for their country. This game rewrites history in order to make the heroes into villains. It is also unbeliveable that zenimax can produce a AAA game that promotes communism and sell it on steam. Communists, who invaded Poland together with nazi germany, who built a wall in Berlin which trapped its victims under communist tyranny and called it the antifascist protection wall, becaues the communists believe that the entire western world is fascist.

It is unbelievable to me that communist symbols are allowed to be promoted in a game that is supposed to be about killing nazis and liberating a country from oppression. Absolutely disgusting. Zenimax is a creep. Robert A. Altman is a creep. Machinegames are creeps.

BJ calls out the communists as cowardly draft-dodgers though and accuses them of being responsible for the allies losing the war. You're not wrong about this game being ridiculous, but the player character is not a communist.
