Why new order was a better game
New order was awesome. I liked how you were fighting in ww2 then you are hospitalised til 1960. From the newspaper clippings describing events from around the globe to the nazi gold (that were actual objects, opposed to the gold models we get in NC), to the weapons that are more modernised ww2 tech and the list goes on. The missions were memorable not to mention there was an actual mission select (after you beat game), the enemies had different uniforms depending on location (moon, prison, aeronautica ect).

New order was a great atmospheric experience with good gameplay. New collossas is just over the top. The characters are more exaggerated, the weapons too advanced and alot of the levels are meh. The kreissau circle is a hippy leftist movement which is strange because its 1961, too early for some of the themes in the game. I know its alternate timeline and all but new collossas takes place 1 year after the first (maybe less). Its too much change too quick. Uber soldats have jet packs now and carry lasers on each arm (or shotgun or diesel ball launcher). Wheres my mg42 minigun?

Im not even going to mention how ridiculous some parts of the story were (the first one had some ridiculous bits but it was in a tasteful manner).
The development team went too far. They pretty much said "new order was a great game, lets do that again but 10x".
I expected a game like the first but was let down.

TL:DR
Max Haus!

While the gameplay is vastly superior the story is so dissapointing and underwhelming that I don't feel like pushing myself through it.

You didn't pay that much for the game, you paid that much for a graphics card and the game.

i actually dont think the gameplay is superior at all. the stealth sections were better in new order, dogs were better, panzerhund was a legit threat and ubersoldats were harder to kill compared to this. the weapons are a let down in this and the ones that return are changed. the action sequences are good, theres enough people to kill and ram shackles are fun to use. overall the level design in this doesnt fit exactly with the gameplay. so overall its not superior or inferior per se. the mechanics are the same (not including ram shackles, constrictor hardness and leg extender things).

Also bring back my knives. tomahawks serve no purpose ouside of tacticool factor for movies and games.

The beginning of New Order reminded me of Hardcore Henry. From there its just flat out action, and little story to connect the corridors

I think the gameplay is better too.
Stealth became harder which I think it was too easy in TNO (I beat death incarnate in my 2nd playthrough, stealth was easy and didn't get harder on higher difficulties.)
Dogs are easier to kill but much more of a threat when you are in a combat. (faster movement makes it hard to aim)

Weapons... well I think soldiers in TNO are too hard to kill, you can't kill them with a headshot from AR.
In this game, AR with AP upgrade will do just fine (about 2 headshots)
But yeah I think the shotgun guys from TNO is better than in The New Colossus, with close combat weapons like that they should be heavily armored.

btw I was under "Bring it on" in The New Colossus.

I agree with a lot of this. TNC feels more like a game by the writers where they go crazy. The gunplay is much the same, but the situations seem even crazier and less believable than the TNO which involves you going to the moon.

In TNO I couldn't wait to go the next area while playing TNC I just kept thinking, "What ridiculous thing is going to come next?"

I agree that New Order and even Old Blood were better than this game. Better optimization, less buggy, better level design, etc.

I loved Wolfenstein the new order+Old Blood. Almost.. Almost bought Wolfenstein 2 but i have not. Not only by watching some streams but what people have concerns with about the game as in its very buggy, crash's plays more like an Early Access game with all the issue's. Yup i would have to agree with what peeps have said.
I will purchase this game if it gets fixed, but i will not be paying that pricetag either. I have done that on a fair few games over the past year or 2 to see then plummet after 3-5mths of release. And those did not all have bug issue's either, some i rather liked but got depressed over paying full price.

Anyways FACT games that are released buggy = crash and burn most of the time and hurt the company involved with it, is quick to lose faith and trust and very slow to regain it. With game price's suddenly jumping from 34.99/39.99 to £55+ i expect decency in the game alround. This right now fails on that.

I like them all three, Collossus may need a bugfix, but we all dont know whats to come with the dlc...ok thats another thing to pay for maybe different content, but thats how it goes today.... I like TNC a lot, because I like this kind of game... UNCUT of course, if its not its not worth to play...

DLC are additional content, you shouldnt need it to make the base game good.

I agree with the op, just finished W2 and the first of the three DLC's (Joe) and somehow the game is a lot less fun than The New Order. I finished The New Order three times in a row (never done that before in any single player game and I'm almost 52 so a loooong time gamer) because the levels were never constricted to just one way to tackle them, it was actually possible to kill the commanders without getting noticed... Every level in The New Order was memorable for one reason or another. In W2 it feels like oh I've been here before but this time I'm going from one corridor to another... I won't be replaying this game.

I felt like it was missing an act 3. I really wanted to find that when you killed Frau Engle it was a body double (it's wolfenstein, it's not a hard concept to comprehend) so you got a an actual showdown with her. BJ realises before Frau Engle taunts you on the screens. Then you she 'invites' you to her compound to finally settle 'business'. With the power of the your newly captured flying ship (forgot the name) you rain down on her compound. Killing all of her Nazis facists you find Frau Engle wearing the armour suit of Caraoline. You finally end it. Walk out of the compound to see people with bats, flaming torches and even there bare fists in the strees. The revolution has begun.

That would have been awesome!
