Assassination missions?

I tried my first assasination mission and had gotten to within five feet of the commander, he decides to turn around and insta murder me with a kampf pistol. So I get dumped back at the beginning. Is this normal? Does anyone else have checkpoints in assassination mission? Cause this really makes finishing them a massive pain if you get dumped back at the very begginning every time.

Yep its normal, F5 is quick save to stop that happening

Yeah try to manually save every accomplishment. And don't play on Mein Lieben it's a meme difficulty lol. Just giving you a heads up.

Just sprint to him and shot him with the dual shotguns in the face, take his card and finish the mission.
