"Italy and Japan were betrayed by the Nazis, in which Italy was invaded and Japan was turned into a German puppet state."
Only place in the world they haven't fully taken yet is Africa.
Shame, that would've been a very interesting place to visit. Seems like its right out of the man in the high castle where Japan is technologically inferior and would basically lose a war with Germany without something like nukes.
And that both powers were extremely hostile to each other once the war was over.
Do you remember where you saw that?
That's a huge wasted opportunity imho. The possibility of another major hostile power could've provided a REALLY interesting contrast to the Reich.
Even if the series never actually went to Japan or the Pacific wouldn't it have been awesome if BJ and the Resistance were aided by the Japanese in some way?
Maybe a covert representative at their base? Or having a mission based around their consulate. Possibly even being given some more advanced technology from them in order to destabilize their rival power?
Personally that seems like a HUGE wasted opportunity for storytelling even in games set within Europe and North America. Just by introducing a possible frenemy faction for the resistance.
It would also be easy to have the setting move to places like Africa if they wanted bc the Japanese could have covertly allowed the Resistance safe haven in their territory. Using them as a pawn in a Cold War scenario within Africa.
Now is there any explanation as to why Africa (presumably sub saharan central and West Africa) haven't been taken over?
