Some Americans are apprehensive because whether they are Nazi's or not, they are considered Nazis for being conservative, voting republican, or criticizing anything "left". Social media has created social neurosis, everything is inflated with politics. The entertainment wings of mainstream media couldn't stay out of it so it's no surprise that Wolfenstein II is not exempt from the age of outrage. Nazi is quickly becoming an "N" word for white people.

FYI, high profile reviews lavish in the idea of Wolfenstein II being social/political commentary.

If you have a healthy, capable mind then ignore what I wrote and whatever anybody else says and see for yourself. It's the only way to be fair and respectable. No need to insulate yourself from an experience that may not necessarily be a confirmation bias.

I worry sometimes about OP style questions. Is it someone looking to take a side because of a prejudice or is it someone seeking the challenge of thinking for themselves?

My personal opinion is that Wolfenstein is wolf in name only now, as is current id. Not worth it to me for so many reasons unrelated to "politcal narrative".

Yes, but they took what is supposed to be a style over substance fantasy and heavily infused it with narrative consisting of material relevant to current politcal climates. Professional reviews legitimized the game as commentary. So I guess you are right, the developers, players, and reviewers never heard of the genre.

Mass Effect SJW and Marvel SJW have peole suspicious of certain tones in games. MachineGames are fortunate to have legitimate talent behind their work, which isn't the case wiuth activist entertainment behind Andromeda and Marvel comics.

I don't care about what politics, if any, the developers intended to project. The game just isn't in the spirit of Wolfenstein nor does it follow the id vision. That's a much bigger issue and it's been hanging of Wolf since "The New Order".
