Crazy FPS drops and stutter, game crashing.
I get it, its new, but I literally can't play the game right now after 3 hours of playtime because whenever I load into my save the game gets a huge FPS drop and stutters, wasn't happening before but it's happening now! I tried to look for some soluitions but can't find any yet as it hasn't been out long enough to find solutions. I have Nvidia Shadowplay turned off, my game is running on the reccommended settings and I can't really think of anything else that could be causing the problem! I think it's just a first day release bug, but it's making the game unplayable now (which sucks as I wanted to sesh it tonight!)

Guess I'm going to have to play some other games to pass the time ;-;

Playing on high settings with a GTX 980, 16GB of RAM and an i7 4770K - Damn I just want to progress in the game!

Sorry, it didn't work, it is more related to performance and not to stability.

Yeah the game becomes totally unplayable, for me, once the second level began. First level (on the sub) was perfect - over 60fps - but once level 2 began it dropped miserably. 2x 960's SLI w/Core i7, 12GB. Here's hoping the upcoming Nvidia Game Ready drivers do the trick. 388.10 didn't help any.

Join the club mate. Sucks, doesn't it? I just really want to be able to play through the campaign and have some fun! I'm a big fan of the series and have been waiting to play it for a long time now! Here's to hoping the game ready drivers come soon, hopefully Monday first thing or earlier (As they said early next week that they would try to release them!)

Well, the game has the same issues Doom had in it's early days. If every time you enter a new level or load a save the game goe from 60 FPS to 23 FPS more then there might be a "solution".

After days of troubles what we did with Doom was turn the Shadows up to ULTRA and then press Alt + Tab, then check the priority Windows is giving to Wolfenstein (should be on normal or above normal), then enter the game again and turn shadows back to LOW, Alt + Tab again and you should have 60 FPS again.

There isn't an official solution for this yet so try to experiment a bit with this. It sucks, I know, but it's better than having to play at 20 FPS

This is all very confusing. My game is now working though, but still getting horrible stutter/lag that makes it almost unplayable, so just got to wait it out. Screwed around with the settings some more and it's not making much of a difference still. Here's to hoping for the best in the next day or two when the nvidia driver comes out!

Just downloaded the game update and the new game-ready drivers from Nvidia.

Still horrible FPS drops into the teens and twenties in some areas of level 3.

Try to decrease Image Streaming Quality setting. i have gtx 980, only image setting "medium" and shadows ultra, everything on highest.
Running 2k and smooth.
4GB vram is not enough for the game.

It's running better as the days go by, but still pretty unstable for me. Maybe I can play this in a month :steambored:

i7 960m checking in - unplayable. Goes from 60 fps dropping to single digits when actually doing anything.

You obviously have a problem on your system. Just look at any gtx 960m wolfenstein 2 video on youtube. It's playable and do not drop to single digits fps.

Start your own thread with the entire system specs. You can get it by going to Steam -> Click on help up there -> System information -> Cut and paste it in your thread.

Game has problems with some CPUs even when your computer is totally okay. Is not correctly implemented for some hyper threading cpus like 4790k

It totally make sense that the game recommend a 4770 but a CPU better than this is having problem with this game.

No. This game run just fine on a 4790k. Just type Wolfenstein 2 4790k on youtube. You can only see dozen of videos with them playing just fine.

This game can run on an i3. 99.99% of the time it's a software related problem. This is why i suggested he start his own thread so i can help him with his problem.

I had/have the exactly same issue, but found a workaround! It's not the GPU, for me it was the driver for my Creative SB Z! When I open the SB console, go to "Speaker/Headset" switch the settings left and right... Then start the game and load my savegame everything runs fine at 60-80 FPS! Otherwise I load my savegame and end up stuttering at 5-10 FPS! Hope this helps...

I have tried sooo many fixes so far guys, literally most things on YouTube and the help discussions on here have been had a go at, however I still can't find a solid fix to get me out of the 30-45 FPS zone with stuttering, so I have come to the conclusion that until they release a big update with hotfixes, I (and I'm sure quite a few others) are pretty screwed for playing the game, which is shame as it's been almost 2 weeks now with these persistent issues still occuring! I just want to be able to play the game at a solid FPS with no issues at the end of the day, even if it's only on medium (which it shouldn't have to be like that) but nothing seems to want to work. It's a shame, as after watching a bit of YouTube footage it looked great too!

Im in the same position, crazy stuttering since 1 week i don't know why.
I was able to finish the game (arround 20 hours of play time) and then for some reason it became unplayable because i got crazy stuttering (insane 60 to 15 fps drops, but mostly 20 on average) before i could play at 60 fps pretty constant with 15 to 20 max FPS drops depending of the map and the action going on. Now Its just unplayable.
Tried reversing to 388.0 : didn't work, tried safe mode : didn't work, tried settings on lowest : didn't work (im on 750Ti btw could play on medium/high 720p before) tried to reinstall : didn't work.
I guess i'll just wait for a big hotfix update then :(

There are problems with the CPU (for example, the 4790k in this video):

I have found several people having problems with the multithreading, so it works okay in some cases and in other it doesn't. The game really needs a patch.
