Vsync is Locking the Game to 60 FPS on 144hz Monitor
When I enable Vsync, it's locking the game to 60 fps and 60hz on my 144hz monitor, which really sucks since it's making the game feels choppy. It's 2017 and we still don't have proper frame limiting options in PC games.

Can't speak for you but i have turned it off and the game is locked at 144Hz. I'm using borderless window btw.

Turn vsync off and lock it to your preferred hz in nvidia inspector.

In my case, the monitor is of course at 144hz if Vsync is off, but then FPS is fluctuating way above it.

It could just be locking to 60 if your FPS is under 120, and if that's the case, forcing tripple buffering in the NVCP would fix it. Doom has a simlar issue, it's in-game vsync was a bit weird. Alternatively, try forcing Fast Sync in the NVCP

I'm fully assuming that you have an nvidia GPU.

Edit: or do what Marsson said.

Wierd, i do however have G-sync on my monitor but i don't think that would lock my fps.

Yeah, I'm on Nvidia gpu. My FPS is above 144 fps, so I'm simply trying to limit it. I'm not fan of Vsync actually and also some third party softwares. Coming from AMD, and I'm kinda shocked to see that Nvidia drivers and control panel is really bad compared to Red team. Not being able to limit the fps from control panel is like living in stone age.

You can turn off v-sync and then use NVidia inspector to limit it to 144 fps.

Even though I'm not really into 3rd party stuff, I guess I'll have to try it. Thanks. I just can't believe Nvidia control panel doesn't have that option yet.

Are you referring to VSync in game or Vsync in the NVIDIA Control Panel?

No not Vsync. Frame rate limiting. AMD has that option for like 2 years.

On the other hand, every single PC game should already have that option.
