Deferred rendering and gpu culling?
Anyone know what these setting do?

Deferred rendering is a type of 3D drawing that renders the polys first then goes over the screen and draws the detail/textures onto the already drawn geometry. It's the preferred form of rendering these days, as it's faster for complex scenes that have many lights and overlapping objects.
GPU culling is probably using your graphics card to test for unseen objects - that's only a guess mind.
Why, where did you see that?

They are options in the menu. The only 2 I didn't know the meaning of

A Google search would have helped a bit, but you're welcome. :)

So has anyone experimented to see if having Deferred Rendering on makes the game run and look better or does it make the game look worse? Basically should it be on or off for people like me that don't understand this setting since it is the first game with this as an option. Thanks!

People starting using deferred rendering since the last decade, including Crysis, STALKER, etc.
It's very strange to have the option. It used to be the case that non deferred would be used for lesser graphics cards, but now it's even used on mobile devices.
I don't know why they've done that. The best thing is to try both, but my money is on deferred.

What does async comput and image streaming do?

I think Async Compute reduces latency, NOT efficiency, so you may get faster buffer switching. Image Streaming is probably exactly as it sounds, I presume it means loading textures from disc when they are needed to be drawn. I thought that was the basis of the ID Tech engine.

I don't have Async Compute on the settings menu tho. Also does Image Streaming have something in common with the VRAM of the GPU?
