If you "optimize" you get pretty bad graphics.

Listen y'all, I had a contact with Bethesda Support the last 48 hours, and we tried many different things. Running the game as administrator, reinstalling the game, reinstalling DirectX and so on, nothing worked. But the last suggestion, so simple, was to simply reinstall Steam. First of all, move the SteamApps folder out of the Steam folder so that you don't lose all progress on all your downloaded games. Then uninstall Steam and check for Windows updates, and restart the computer. Then you reinstall Steam, move the AppData folder back in place and install the game again. This worked for me. I really hope this works for you too.

This worked for me...( I use 2x AMD R9 m290x Crossfire Video Cards)...
Goto Steam folder on Drive C
Look for SteamOverlayVulkanLayer64.dll
Back it up and save it...
Now delete the orginal one and reboot Steam and or Comnputer...
Now when the reboot is complete it will redownload the file and for some of you this will be fixed..
This removes the need for the uninstall and Reinstall Steam Solution...
If this works for anyone with / without nVidia / AND AMD Video cards
Post back so others will know..

not really. You can chage the configuration after for best settings. For example, the Geforce Experience changed resolution to 720p; I change again to 1080p and worked fine.

Crash dumps still on 388.31... piece of ♥♥♥♥ game. I want to play it but I don't want to save everey 5 minutes in case I get this stupid crash dump error. It happened TWICE in the same spot, since I tested it. Right after you step over the first crocodile in Manhattan and pick up the starcard it always crashes after I pick up the card. If I just kill the croc and turn around and leave it still runs.... the three times my game has crashed was during picking up a collectible. One in Evas Hammer and the same spot twice in Manhattan.

Just started getting the error today AFTER the driver update. Rolling back the drivers didnt fix it. Should have never updated. Geforce gtx 960.

This issue has nothing to do with your drivers.

Guys, I found the fix mwithout having to go into BIOS.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to your Control Panel
2. Search "Device Manager"
3. Access Device Manager with admin rights
4. Navigate to "Display Adapters"
5. You will see a number of options such as Intel..., NVIDIA..., or AMD...
6. Right click the Intel adapter and click "dsiable device"
7. Close the Device Manager
8. ...
9. Profit
10. Launch your game, adjust the settings and have fun!
Thank you this worked for me

What worked for me was to disable all but one of the GPU's in Device Manager and the game launched.

is anyone having the issue with the newest dlc? It keeps crashing everytime i die or load any save auto or manual save. It happens right when I get to the part where you are out in the street riding the Panzerhound and fight the waves of enemies and the other PH. Is this something with my pc or the game? This is the only spot in the game it does it too. Here's a video I was doing. Skip to the end https://youtu.be/NEA3EwxII2k

Also had constant crash dump errors since the update to the new dlc a day ago. Playing
the dlc campaign worked until shortly after the panzerhund level of the first volume. After
that the save game wouldn´t load anymore and constantly crash. Tried out some things
mentioned here but nothing worked. Then I rememberd that there were some similar issues
with Doom and the virtual texturing page size on Nightmare so I changed the image
streaming settings from Über to Ultra and that instantly fixed the issue for me and it was
possible to continue with the crashing savegame. Maybe that helps some of you guys! :)
