Question regarding Ashley top untie

Quick question about untying Ashley's top for the Rachel questline - I already (inadvertently) untied her top earlier, apologized to her and gained back some friendship with her, but now Madison wants me to untie it again and every time I try, I get a message saying something to the extent of, "you should fix things with Ashley before doing this again".

I have no idea how to gain status with her, as she has no dialogue options to do so and I've scoured the house looking for ways to get in better with her. Do I just have to restore a previous save before doing it the first time?

Did you apologize to Ashley and pursue any "makeup"-oriented activities that may follow?

Yeah, I think I figured it out eventually - needed to give her the blue flower.
