Have you tried changing the graphics settings? Uninstalling and reinstalling? Those are the easiest initial steps to take.
Are you seeing any red text/errors on the main menu?
windows 10
Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80GHz
8gigs of ram
AMD Radeon HD 5700 series
Your GPU has been deemed a legacy product by the manufacturer so it hasn't received software/driver updates in some time. Check out this article from AMD on the subject, fully uninstall your current graphics drivers, and install the newest supported driver (it will still be several years old) that they advise you to use:
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-630
If that does not work:
Try forcing the game to run in DirectX 9, or with using legacy Direct X feature sets:
If that does not work, try these additional command line feature set/launch options (can be helpful for legacy AMD cards or if using Steam's Proton feature). Test one of these at a time within the Launch Options window:
-force-feature-level-9-3
-force-feature-level-10-0
-force-feature-level-10-1
C:\Users\YOU\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party
Then, go to your Start Bar/Start Menu, and start typing "dxdiag.exe". You should see a dxdiag/DirectX diagnostic application appear. Open it, then when it loads you will see a Save All Information button in the bottom right of the window. Click that, save the file, and be ready to provide that for me as well.
You can paste the contents here, on pastebin.com or equivalent, or email them to me at erasmus@eekllc.com.

Can you try these command line options instead of the DirectX 10 one?
-force-d3d11
-force-d3d11-singlethreaded
-force-feature-level-11-0
What is likely happening is that there's an error being encountered on the backend when attempting to render the characters, and that's cascading into what you see on your screen. Sometimes the entirety of errors encountered is not populated into the logs, and we have no control over what the Unity Crash or internal logging system does. It doesn't help that your card is under-spec'd in terms of VRAM/resources, but I am not seeing any memory or resource allocation errors pop up. That might just be because the characters are not rendering properly, greatly cutting down on the resources they use.
Please check our system requirements again. There may be nothing we can do to fix this. If you are within the refund time window I would strongly urge you to consider a refund as we may never be able to offer both DX10-only and DX11 support.
