Game crashes after loading screen
Every time I start the actual game from the main menu after the loading screen my game crashes. I've tried reinstalling, verifying files, updating graphics card, updating computer. I've tried to look up stuff but I could rarely find anything and when I did I was really confused. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Can you provide a player.log file, as well as a DXDIAG output file, as detailed in this link?

The 531.xx line of drivers seem to be causing sporadic issues for folks. Try rolling back to a previous version like 528.xx.

You have this installed on an external USB hard drive, it looks like. Can you try running it off your main Windows drive?

Have you been having issues with anything else on your PC? I'm seeing some Desktop Window Manager, Explorer, and other windows tasks crashing in addition to House Party.

Can you try closing as many apps as possible in the background? Same goes for those webcam and Oculus-related apps that may be running.

I always try to close as many apps a possible. Does this include apps in the background that I should close through task manager? Also how do I go back in driver versions? The only one I can see on GeForce Experience is 531.41. The only other thing I notice crashing is fortnite sometimes. I tried it on harddrive and external before I made the discussion post.

It could help to close those, yes. I can't tell what was running when your game crashed. A lot of programs can run in the background, eating up resources. Your peripheral devices could be running background processes as well. Even disconnected devices can leave software behind.

I don't use GeForce Experience so I'm not sure if you can select older drivers there. I would refer to NVIDIA articles for further reference, but I suspect you'll have to browse through their driver list for your OS and GPU and install one manually.

What exactly happens when you install and try to play on the main drive? Steam themselves recommend against using external drives for their services and games. I've also seen some odd issues with virtual memory behavior on some systems with this type of configuration with Steam from time to time. Those occasionally lead to crashes. (As noted at least once in our full crash troubleshooting guide here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/611790/discussions/1/1458455461474913334/#c3056240878559403648 )

The reason for all the questions is: your system appears to be running out of memory. Without more info that doesn't really make sense given that your system is a bit better, spec-wise, to one of my test systems (an i5 6500 Skylake, NVIDIA 1060 6GB with 452.06 drivers, 16GB RAM, Windows 10, also at 1080p like yourself). I have no stability issues on that test system.

Edit: clarified wording and some removed confusing irrelevant info. I spend too much time in my little dev headspace apparently.

Main drive had so far had the same thing happen as external. I play plenty of games off my external ssd and they work fine. I'll look into manually downloading an older driver.

Alrighty. Have you swapped around any hardware in your PC recently, or a display, etc.? How long have you been using Windows 11 for?

Gotcha, all good.

For drivers I went here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Those were my search parameters and just a few of the results.
