Whip out Penis not working.
Pressing P to whip out penis on keyboard is not working, haven't tried on a controller. I found out when getting into a BJ scene with Madison locked up my game becaues I couldn't pull it out. But then I tested a bunch of situations. Making a new game didn't help, nor did reloading a file. I re-verified my game files on steam and closed and opened the game. I remapped it to other keys, including keys that I knew were functioning for other things.

Is this a bug with the new update? Gonna need the ability to whip it out back, pls.

Hm that is odd, sorry to hear that. Yeah, that would totally !*&@ a game up at many points. This is the first that I am hearing of it, but it could certainly be a thing. Are you using a US keyboard layout? US-English as your primary Windows language?

Can you start a game, reproduce this issue (try to whip it out, let it fail a few times), and then follow the instructions in this link to get me a debug log (F5 in game), and an output_log.txt (in the AppData... folder) and provide them to me either here, via a pastebin.com equivalent, or via email at erasmus@eekllc.com?

Also, if you are comfortable with the Windows Registry Editor, can you delete the game, and try deleting this registry key?

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eek\

Do not delete or modify ANYTHING else in the registry.

Additionally, prior to reinstalling the game, ensure that these folders are completely removed from your system:

C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME-HERE\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\
C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME-HERE\AppData\Local\Temp\Eek\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\House Party\
C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME-HERE\Documents\Eek\

Finally, and I know this might sound odd, but if you are using any sort of anti-virus software or anti-ransomware tools outside of Windows Defender, try adding exceptions to that program for our game using the folders above as a reference.

Then reinstall the game, and ensure your security software I referred to above also has an exception in for C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\House Party\HouseParty.exe

Just responding to this then will try deleting the regkey you mentioned and reinstalling fresh.
1) US keyboard layout Logitech g510.
2) US-English as my primary.
3) Keyboard is fully functional, and just before the update happened yesterday I was playing the game pressing P like my life depended on it, then after the update, pressing P does nothing.
4)https://pastebin.com/JqDUSAFq
5) The log showed no response to me pressing P, or pressing V which I had bound to Whip it out. I used the Y function to try taking off clothes, which works, but pressing P doesn't show up in the log at all from what I see.

Definitely reproducable, the function simply doesn't work at all in my game for some reason. I'll now go on to reinstall the game and remove the registry (I am fluent in syskeys and such so is no problem.)

Just uninstalled the game, then deleted all trace of it from the computer by following your instructions to get rid of all registry keys and files before reinstalling the game. I made sure that anivirus software did not get in the way of the install. I do not have any software outside of windows defender.

After reinstalling, I am still getting the same issue. Ever since the update yesterday The Whip it out function is not working at all.

This is a new debug log from a new game run after the install. I started a new game, walked around a bit, pressed P about 50 times, and went into the input settings to add X as a secondary input for Whip it out. Then I pressed X a bunch of times. I have also changed it to Y, which I confirmed was working to undress, but the function doesn't work.

The debug log doesn't seem to even register that I'm pressing a button.

Anyway hope this helps you find this bug. Was working fine before the update.
Let me know if I can do any further testing for you.

Ok thank you for the details. I will look into this; in the meantime try playing the redeploy/hot fix we just pushed to Steam for a couple minutes. We did address an issue that was affecting certain customers' keybinds so, there's an off-chance it could fix your issue. If not, let me know.

Just checked the game again today. Same thing is happening. To test it this time I started a new game, tried to press P a bunch of times, pressed Y to remove clothing, then I remapped the WHip it out command to Y and the remove clothing to P. The whip it out command still didn't work when mapped to Y which just worked to remove my clothing. Pressing P for the newly remapped clothing option worked though.

It's a very strange seeming issue, and stranger that I seem to be the only one talking about it. For me the function just doesn't work. Not sure why.

Hmm we may need to look at the add-on we use for control configuration. Can you try rolling back to 0.12.4 and then back to 0.13.3 again?
KitZune Apr 13, 2019 @ 11:22pm
Okay so I tried this, and you're not gonna like the result... hehehe.

Rolled back to 0.12.4, and started a new game, and P worked, whipped it out immediately, no problems.
Rolled forward to 0.13.3, and it did NOT work again.

Sorry this seems to be a very weird issue.

Hmm ok, that's so odd. Unfortunately I'm going to have to look into this further. This is going to seem like a strange question, but do you run an antivirus/anti-ransomware solution other than Windows Defender? Usually these programs cause read/write problems but a couple times we've seen them do crazy stuff.
KitZune Apr 15, 2019 @ 11:00pm
I don't, no. I do run Advanced System Care, which is a diagnostic / clean-up tool. I could imagine it doing SOMETHING. but it requires actively scanning and acting on scans. I definitely did not run the program during my attempts at reinstalling or rolling back and forward. But I do not run anti anti-viral or anti-malware software.
erasmus  [developer] Apr 17, 2019 @ 6:21am
Alright, if that does indeed involve any active scan capabilities, see if you can add exceptions to it. After that, check section T6 in this article: https://steamcommunity.com/app/611790/discussions/1/1458455461474913334/

Go through each of the steps listed there, thoroughly. I'm going to have to look at the code for that functionality and see where there could be any hangups and differences vs. the other functions you said ARE working.

If you ensure that you have either pants OR pants and boxers on, open up the console (` or ~ on US keyboards) and type:

player togglepenis (where the censored portion is the five letter word for what is being exposed)

Then hit Enter/Return, does the Player expose himself?

If you have trouble with the above command, type:

help player

Then hit Enter/Return, and you will see the command I am talking about in the help text.

Final questions: did you unlock your fps with the lockfps command? Are you using VSYNC in the in-game settings? Do you have GSYNC or FreeSync, etc. enabled for your monitor/GPU in your GPU control panel? Are you trying to expose yourself with any other UI elements open?

Okay so to clarify.
1) I am NOT running antiviral software outside of windows defender. The software I mentioned is not automatic, but manual. I have not run that software since my testing of House Party where I uninstalled, reinstalled, rolled back, and rolled forward.

2) When rolled back, the functionality returns. Last update I can press P to whip it out. I can also remap P to something else and it works.

3) When updated to the current build of the game, the P functionality stops entirely, it looks as though the game doesn't even register that I am pressing the button, no matter which key I map it to.

4) I entered the console command you just gave me. and it worked! I can use the "player togglepenis" command to whip it out. (Work around found, yay I can go back to BJs.)

5) My fps is locked by default. Vsynch in the settings is ON. I don't have any sync features activated with monitor or gpu software. The P button doesn't work from a fresh game, even with nothing open as I demonstrated before.

So to recap: The console command works. But the keyboard shortcut does not. All other keyboard commands work in the game including taking off clothes, it seems to specifically be effecting the whip out penis command. Functions fine before the update, does not function after the update. Something in the update breaks it for me.

I hope this helps. I have been trying a lot of different ways to launch the game to try to get different results. I've even tried shutting down all non-essential computer tasks and restricting software with a tool I have. Been watching for software opening during the game through Task Manager. Nothing out of the ordinary stands out.
erasmus  [developer] Apr 17, 2019 @ 10:03pm
That's really odd. There's nothing different about the way the code calls the 'expose yourself' function. It's just a Unity GetButtonDown call to a key mapped to the input manager in the same way we map things like crouch, bringing up the clothing radial for taking off/putting on clothes, etc. Caveats include not being in combat, being alive, not being knocked out, not being having "hard" UI elements open (UI elements that are intended to close all other UI)...pretty predictable stuff.

The console workaround shortcuts right to the method that's *supposed* to be called by the keybind. Other than looking into shortcuts, etc. used by keyboard software, having old drivers installed that are no longer necessary, or rolling back and up to 0.13.3 again all while defaulting the controls...there's not much I can suggest. We periodically get a one-off report such as this of a single button not working, but it's never been something we can trace internally.
KitZune Apr 18, 2019 @ 1:14am
I guess I'll just have to hope it resolves sometime in the future then.

A driver or other elements on my end would make sense if rolling back an update didn't work. But it does. I can roll back, get the key to work, and roll forward and it doesn't. I've tried everything on my end I can possibly imagine to isolate it.

Either way, with the console command I suppose it doesn't kill the gameplay for me anymore.
Thanks for looking into it. If I'm the only one having the issue, then it's not very important to solve.
