Madison's phone disappeared during snake hunt
I took Leah into the garage, shone the light from Madison's phone (Kat had Patrick's phone) around as directed. Then we did the fight training, Patrick came in and mentioned the contents of hit suitcase.

I then went upstairs talked to Ashley on the way, and then went into Ashley's room and saved.

When I load that save, Leah walks in and immediately starts the dialog. Once I finish that, I go into the art room, and that's where I noticed that Madison's phone was missing from my inventory, when I wanted to turn the light on to look in the closet.

So I'm not sure exactly when it was lost, but it was there right before the fight, since it's needed to trigger the events.

I did notice after this that if I talk to Madison, I can ask her to give me her phone again, but even if she agrees to, it doesn't go into my inventory.

I have a save right between chasing the snake and starting the combat training, if that helps, but I don't think I have the Quick Save mentioned above.

Any idea if it could have been dropped?

Don't save AFTER doing this (your Achievements will be disabled for that playthrough), but what if you use the following console command? Hit ` or ~ ( ö or ò on some non-US keyboards):

warpto player madisonphone

Hit Enter. Does it warp you somewhere crazy?

I resumed playing from a quick-save in that play-through yesterday, and later found it out on on the floor of the garage, right where I'd been standing when I finished the snipe-hunt in the garage.

So yes, it must have been auto-dropped by either the end of the event, or me entering fight mode, perhaps.

Sorry, I meant to come back last night after I noticed this. I felt a bit dumb when I saw that, since I wasn't even looking for it at the time.

I am sure I'd checked at the time I noticed the loss, but I guess that's how it goes sometimes.

So yeah, no disappearing-item bug. Total false alarm, PEBKAC, etc. ^_^

There is an issue that Madison was willing to repeat (repeatedly) the dialog with me to get her phone back from her, even though she didn't have it, just because I didn't have it in my inventory. I'm not sure if it's otherwise possible to lose the phone though, so this might be a particularly obtuse situation.

Alright, I know what would be causing that last bit. Thanks for the feedback!
