can't progress with ashley madison quest anymore

before switching to beta, after finishing the first part, washing ashley's clothes and getting the blowjob I was able to to ask about the prank, which gives me the option to ask for madison's phone back, which is how I've always done both rachel's plot and ashley's plot because I don't like humiliating her. I've always given madison her phone back to trigger that quest in the first place because the other option was to insult ashley about being like her sister.
Now nothing is happening, I've finished amy and katherine's quest, completely baffled how to proceed with stephanie, and madison and ashley are doing nothing, which means I can't start rachel/vickie.

Did you try and secure her top instead of exposing her. That may trigger the next dialogue to allow you to get the phone back because it triggers another conversation with ashely. Try that and let me know if that worked to move you forward.

I can't tell if you threw beer on Madison in your initial post, or if you got Brittney downstairs. Did you pursue *any* of Steph's new content?

Also, if you did all of Katherine's old/classic opportunity, then some new content with Stephanie will be limited.

I am not having any problems combining the content you've listed. Did you look at Madison's phone after it got unlocked to see the nudes? That is required for moving further with Ashley if you've gotten to the point that the prank resumes post-"Change of Heart" (not humiliation).

I didn't unlock madison's phone because I didn't have it. I had given madison the phone back which is the only way I know to trigger the humiliate ashley quest. you have to give ashley the diary to proceed, and she then tells you the phone code, but at that point I've already given the phone back. Then after finishing that and getting ashley's bj reward, she usually has the option to do the prank, or it's at that point that the option to ask madison for the phone back is available, and then you follow up. But I wasn't given an option to get the phone back or the prompt to continue the quest with ashley
In that playthrough I had completed katherine's quest, because at the time I was unaware that you had to pick between katherine and stephanie. and no I did not throw beer on madison, I've never tried that one actually
as a separate note, it bothers me that if I have the phone, and I have the diary, and I personally know that the phones code is in the diary, but the mc refuses to read the diary because he doesn't want to waste time, so you can't get the code

trying to recreate it now, but this is bringing up another thing I wanted to address, right before ashley was about to ask about madison's diary, madison walked up and is now just standing in front of us and has been like that for a few minutes. There's no way to end the conversation with ashley other than continuing that plot which will result in madison overhearing, so there should be an optional trigger to get out of this situation.

k, having gone through it again, this time in a playthrough where I've finished stephanie's quest, I still ran into the same error. A Change of Heart is finished, reward earned, but I don't get the option to follow up with ashley, and I don't get the option to ask for the phone back saying it has water damage, which means there's no way I can complete that story. I can still get vickie's number by untying ashley's top but I don't like doing that, I like ashley lol, so I can no longer access rachel/vickie.

so to achieve this game state
1: give madison back her phone, she then initiates the humiliate ashley quest. Do not tell ashley she you see the resemblance since she doesn't like that
2: give ashley the diary, she then gives you the phone code, proceed through a change of heart
3: that's it. Before, there was a dialogue option where you told ashley you already gave madison's phone back and she says you need to figure out how to get hold of it again, but now that's missing

was this ever sorted? im stuck with a similar situation ive been following the walkthrough. im at the part where i need to ask ashly about the diary and then get madisons phone back from her. I cant ask ashly about the diary.

It very likely was, unless you did some other content that locked out certain choices. Can you detail what you've done in game so far? Or provide a debug log (F5 then Save Log; it'll give you the save location)? Was this a fresh playthrough and which walkthrough were you following?
