We might have messed up, but Steam and Unity both have also been known for interfering with a game's ability to run on all systems. We won't know without more info, so on that note...

A few quick steps, and try doing them in order:
  1. Delete the following folders:
    C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Eek\House Party\Mods\Stories\Original Story
    C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Eek\House Party\Photos
  2. Temporarily disable your anti-virus/anti-ransomware or other security software so it doesn't interfere with our game's ability to read/write/modify/delete files and folders
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the game from Steam
  4. Uninstall the Adult Content/Explicit Content DLC
  5. Try playing the game again from Steam

Remember to turn back on your security/anti-virus etc. software after you perform these steps.

If none of those work, next I'll need some info and logs. Can you start by telling me what your PC's specs are? GPU model #, CPU model #, Windows version and if it's 32 or 64 bit, and how much RAM/system memory you have?

Next, logs. If any of the below aren't found, you may have to search your PC a bit as we look for Windows' generic/default "application data path" location, which can be different depending on the user:

Go into this folder and get me a file called "output_log". It is a .txt (text) file:

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party

Then, go into these folders, and let me know if you have any Crash report subfolders (they will be called something like "Crash_2018-xxxx). If so, please grab the most recent and send its contents (most likely a crash.dmp and error.log) to me:

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Eek\House Party\Crashes

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party\Crashes

If you're willing, please paste *all* of those items (any output_log.txt, crash.log, and error.log files) here using pastebin.com, etc. Otherwise we'll have to do this via e-mail.

yeah I have done all of this stuff and it loads and then crashes I have cleared the files like he said and I used to be able to run it on this computer and all my drivers are up to date and everything so I think it is a developement issue

If it was as simple as a development issue, many more people would be reporting it. For some perspective, even if 500 people were experiencing this issue *and* reporting it *and* confirmed they couldn't resolve it through troubleshooting on their end (there are far less, you can look through these boards and count, as well as our reviews), that would only be 2.39% of our total new users for the last month.

What about the other log location I pointed out? I called out two.

Also, please list for me what is found in the following folder: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Eek\House Party\Mods\Stories

Ok, no crash reports is fine. The Unity Crash Handler may not be picking any up. What about the output_log.txt that should be in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party ? This gets generated and at least partially populated even in cases where the game crashes, with or without a crash log or error message appearing.

And, what about the C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\Eek\House Party\ folder? Does this exist, and if so what is in it?

Also, we should look at your Steam settings. There's no small number of reports online about Steam causing issues with other games. You can try disabling your Steam overlay (Steam settings -> In-Game), disabling all hardware/graphics/smoothing settings in Steam, disabling Streaming settings, and making sure you aren't running Steam in the background in Big Picture mode.

Also, what is your desktop resolution and refresh rate? Are those set to your display's native/defaults? Are you using any custom resolutions or aspect ratio or scaling settings that aren't defaults? What about NVIDIA DSR settings in the NVIDIA control panel, is that disabled? Have you tried setting all NVIDIA control panel settings back to default?

I don't see the folder named "Stories" in my folders. What's going on with my game?

If you're looking in the Steam folders, you're looking in the wrong place. The correct location is mentioned by the dev a couple of posts up. If you don't see it where the dev says it's supposed to be, you could just make the folder yourself, I suppose.
