Solar Flare achievement

anyone figure it out yet cant figure it out myself

[Phantom Earth]

Solution in spoiler tags:

Get the Motor Oil from the Garage and the Sundress from Madison's Closet. Progress Frank's quest to the point that you need to get Derek to flash him. Challenge Derek to the dance contest, then when he starts dancing click on the Fireplace and use with the Motor Oil. This will cause a fireball that burns Derek's clothes off, leaving him naked. He will run and hide in the laundry room; go there and talk to him, then give him the Sundress.

This has actually been in the game for a long time but most people didn't know about it. I guess adding the achievement was to make it better known.

Hey so, Ive tried doing that (since I was looking through the discussions to see if anyone had any solution to finishing solar fare) but it didn't work do I need to do a extra step to complete it??

it worked for me was he standing right in front of the fire place and dancing

Actually I'm going to try that now since he wasn't directly at the fire place but he still got caught on fire and went to the laundry room.

Edit: okay so I pushed Derek to the front of the fireplace, he caught on fire and I gave him the sundress and still no achievement now it said that when that happens (when he's burned) only his pants and boxers come off so I'm not 100% sure if it requires for him to be fully naked or not but still I didn't get the achievement fully from it.

Okay so, I did finish the amy scavenger hunt with derek's shirt off this time and the achievement still didn't come (even after handing him the sundress and doing the whole fireplace thing)

yeah idk i dint need him to be shirtless, did you do franks mission up to asking derek to flash him and starting the dance off ?

Yeah I did

I tried this multiple times as a guy and what helped me was playing as girl. I got to the point where you challenge him to the dance battle, I pushed him right into the fireplace and as soon as we started danicng I have used the motor oil with the fireplace. His clothes burned and he ran away to the laundry room. After talking to him I gave him the sundress and the achievement popped up. Hope this helped!

I was able to get the achievement after giving Derek the sundress. After his clothes catch fire during the dance-off, he’ll either be completely nude or still wearing his shirt. **This depends on if you’ve already given his shirt to Amy for her scavenger hunt.** Derek will run upstairs to hide in the laundry room. Grab Madison’s sundress from her closet (it’ll be on your left, above the safe) then give it to Derek to wear 😂 After the convo ends, achievement message should pop up.
