Explicit DLC now costs money?

Can't find any thread on this so here goes.

I bought this game back on release or something and was thinking of revisiting it now. However, it seems like the game has been censored and requires dlc to uncensor it. However, this DLC isn't free anymore?

I've had House Party for a long time. I went to purchase the DLC and Steam told me I already owned it. Is there a way to check to see if I already have the DLC? I do not want to miss out on anything. I know I patched it in the past to remove the censorship but does this give me the added stuff? Thanks

I'd like to make sure I have the added stuff in the DLC and not just the removed censorship.

In your game library right click on the game and then on property, then on DLC and you'll see your possessed and installed DLC for the game.

Our current policy is:

Anyone who bought the base House Party game on Steam before March 1, 2022, and can provide a corroborating proof of purchase is eligible to receive a single Explicit Content DLC key.

Then, go to the #create-ticket channel, and click the button that has the envelop image and says "Create Ticket". You will find this button below the channel's other instructional text.

The DLC section is underneath the Trading Cards in your game library. If you have the Explicit pack, then you have it ingame.

If you already downloaded the DLC at any point, you should still have it. The key is only necessary for people who may have missed it or haven't played since we introduced it in October of 2018.

It's $5, and it's not a line of text. You should really read the description. The DLC now delivers a bunch of high quality cinematics that are new content to the game.

The scenes are MUCH better than the old models clipping into each other in awkward sex poses... lmao. It's a much welcomed addition for me. Even the new opening game cutscene adds a lot of much needed polish to the game.

We have made an announcement on this last year as creating extra cutscenes does require a lot of work and resources hence the decision of having a paid DLC, although we are also working on getting our ratings approved on most applicable situations aiming to get rid of censorship for as much as we could.

Here's a longer version from our last years's post though:
Part of this process involved making changes to the game, the most significant of which, is that we now have a base game with a Steam “Mature” rating, and we have a Steam “Adult Only” rated DLC patch. Initially, the DLC patch’s purpose was simply to uncensor any nudity or sexual content in the game, but since then a lot of the mature content has been moved from the base game to the Explicit DLC patch. We are also now developing bigger, longer, and explicit cutscenes specifically for that content patch.

Because of this, and because we plan to add more content specifically to the Explicit DLC patch, we will soon be adding a small charge for the DLC patch. We wanted to let you know ahead of time, since if you already own the game, you can still (at the time of this writing) download the patch for free, and if you downloaded it at any point while it is free, it will remain free permanently. This price increase will only affect new players, and the base game price will remain unchanged even after we exit Early Access.

We will continue to maintain this optional AO rated patch as a counter to the changes the “powers that be” require us to make to allow the base game to maintain an “M” rating. It’s a necessary thing so that this game and our future games can continue to thrive both in and out of the mainstream, ensuring the stability of our company, which in turn means much more cool stuff to come down the line! House Party is all about choice, and we are committed to delivering the choice of adult content to our 18+ players, and to combat the regulations surrounding this type of content in video games as opposed to gratuitous violence, and exposing the hypocrisy and discrimination of creators of this type of content by the people who make these silly rules.

You guys are wrong. Nobody will buy this game to have to play it completely censored. This is completely ridiculous, the person buying the game and then having to buy the add-on to remove the censorship. It's like if you sell a hotdog to your customer, you sell the bread and then you demand for the sausage.

You're developing bigger, longer scenes, etc, that's no excuse. First of all, this game is STILL in early access, second, you have a patreon that helps you financially. People do buy games to want to have fun, if the game is in early access, they are trusting your work. They are also at risk, because you can leave the project but that will make you never come back to Steam.

Another thing, the game is not even complete, most of the time there were updates of textures corrections, objects, additions of objects around the house, modification of scenery, but nothing that could develop the story well. For example, there are characters that the story is not developed, like Brittney, for example, another thing too, if you remove the sexual content, the game will be extremely boring, that is, no one will buy it because of the jokes, people buy it because it has sexual content, it's funny to say this, but I don't see Leisure Suit Larry games being so successful these days, why? because it lacks sufficient sexual content.

Now we will talk about House Party, you have to know that your game is still incomplete, it must have at least 50% progress and you know it. I don't know how big your development team is, I think it's small because the speed of development is not great, I also know that you guys want to create a new game project, that is, a new game called Office Party, but I'm assuming you're not working on the new game, because if you're doing that you'll be doubling your work time on House Party. So there's no excuses, we're not fools to fall for any lies or excuses. I'm not calling you that, but let's be more transparent.

I would like you to at least make your game to have scenes in third person view, it is possible, the game Last Hope (https://www.patreon.com/PoolsideGames), which is not here on Steam but is an adult game with sexual content, has this option. So it shouldn't be that difficult to implement, this excuse of "we are creating new cinematic scenes" there are games funded by patreon that also have this, but I'm not trying to make comparisons or belittle your work, in fact I admire your work but I'm speaking as a fan and I also need to criticize you. So you might want to create new sex positions for the characters in your game and have the option of third person or even do both which is cinematic scenes.
I guarantee you that people will buy your game if there is more sexual content, but without having to overdo it, people like it. I know that there are many countries that have restrictions and laws for this type of game, I also understand that Steam is full of bureaucracy, so, to be more explicit, why don't you guys add the DLC value to the game and make the DLC free? It's much more, let's say, simple, the game has increased the price, because you guys are developing and the customer doesn't have to be tricked into buying the DLC to have to remove the censorship. It's not because a country or two have rules and bureaucracies that all countries have to be harmed, I mean the customers, the players, so listen to what I said. This game could be so much more, but the way progress takes, people end up losing their faith and other games will be entering the market, and when you release Office Party, no one will believe the project because people will say, "House Party took more than 5 years to develop, this and that happened, I better not try this new game".

I agree adding censored real life people was a mistake. I guess its all PR marketing but to customers adding censored people to a porn game is a bit silly.
