Report a translation problem
The devs have been conveniently vague about it and completely ignore threads like this one to be sure to not clarify anything.
i'll just wait for reviews to tell me lol
You guys will definitely hear from us about the details of this DLC once we get near release at least.
From a logical business perspective, if there was this kind of content, they'll definitely say it as soon as possible, it's a major selling point.
The fact that they are vague and postpone their answer mean that it's extremely unlikely that there is such content.
It always work like that, if you ask a japanese game translator company like NISA if their next game is going to be censored, either it isn't and they immediately answer to maximize the sales, or it is censored, and they won't answer, or just before the release to maximize the sales. That's basic business practice.
Anticonsummer basic business practice.
Also, I will add that after the ordeal with Lety's censorship, they may want to be careful about announcing anything in the future until they are completely sure everything will go according to plan.
I completely agree with your post except that part. I think the negotiations were done before they announced the DLC.
Also, maybe the DLC will include another new character in addition to Doja Cat that will have nudity and sexual content. But Doja herself ? I don't believe it a single second.
Personally, I really don't care either way. But I feel like there are a lot of expectations from this kind of game, and not having it would leave a lot of people feeling cheated. I do find Vechernyaya's theory about a bonus character interesting, though. Sort of a consolation for those who don't end up getting what they wanted.
But the chances of meeting up with her in real life so you can perform such an act is incredibly low... Probably near impossible too. Also worth noting as well, she's the only character in this game you would actually be capable of having sex with in real life.
Game Grumps don't count because they probably don't get laid.
Eek stayed vague to not disappoint their audience, and when the time come to be more precise about the DLC content, they'll probably anounce new sex scenes for the existing characters or maybe a new character with sex scenes, the mentioned masked viral dancer for exemple with the DLC to avoid a backlash caused by the disappointment and feeling of betrayal.
In the worst case, they may think that the game now being all age without the paying explicit DLC, it is acceptable to release a DLC with no sexual content.
Anyway, it would be, again, a bad move from them after the paying expicit content, but they already proved that they don't really care about being consummer friendly...
But all this is just an assumption, let's hope we are wrong and a high profile celebrity accepted to be modeled in a 3d game to be exposed naked and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the players.
Or maybe being a notorious troll, she will be modeled with a ♥♥♥♥ and that's her who will ♥♥♥♥ the players...
From your perspective, that is true, and that's a fair opinion. Some players however do enjoy this game for the comedy more than the pornographic content. (It could be argued that saying this is equivalent to someone who claims they buy Playboy just for the articles.) So adding the Grumps or Doja Cat means more comedy hi-jinks goodness for them. There's also a fan base that probably doesn't care about sex and nudity in games but will play this because they are big fan of The Grumps or Doja and want to play a video game with them in it.
Eek Games has gone on record saying that this game is a comedy game first. The problem of any game featuring explicit scenes of nudity and sex is that it will always be the highest selling point of any game and will 'type cast' the game as a porn game regardless of the developer's intentions. (Like the previous Playboy argument, some may argue that Eek saying they are a comedy game is just like McDonald's saying they are a bistro and not a fast food restaurant).
Assuming that Doja Cat is going to be finicky with the X rated stuff in this game, I am taking a guess at some possible scenarios (or combinations of) for her here for when you romance her (not limited to this list):
- She makes out with the player and that's it (maybe a making out only cut-scene is added, similar to Frank's BJ added as a cut scene)
- A partial cutscene that Doja drags the player to bed or a spot in or out of the house and lays down and then fade to black. Or just a simple fade to black with dialogue or some witty narration.
- A censored cut scene with it's own music maybe one from her albums (even with the explicit add-on)
- Fade to black with sex sounds recorded by her, or by a voice double. (They did this for Frank and Ashley, according to the AMA. Katabelle who voiced Vickie Vixen did Ashley's moans and someone else did Frank's and not Bentley Michaels)
- The music video she wants to shoot will include grinding and sexy dancing with the player.
There's also the matter of the custom story creator. Will her model be in it? If it is, will the same restrictions apply? Will she say no to sex and nudity in the DLC story but her model in the CSC will be open to it? Who knows.
As for myself, I might get the DLC if it includes some good stuff for the CSC since I'm working on a story. Knowing me, I'll probably end up getting it either way because this is one of my favorite indie games next to Stardew Valley and Age of Barbarians.
As I'm typing this out, just a few reminders in case this post triggers anyone:
1. I'm not saying anything bad about anyone or invalidating their opinions good or bad on Eek or how they enjoy the game.
2. I don't have anything against Eek games or House Party.
3. I never heard of Doja Cat before the announcement. I don't know her music or what kind of person she is.
4. These are just speculation on my part. There's a good chance I'm 100 percent wrong on everything.
5. I don't wrestle Emus.
That is all.
She is, as per her own marketing, her own voice.
The very fact that a Grammy winning, notable celebutante is here- in this game- is phenomenal. Game Grumps were "Something" but this is full on "Something else."
