Custom story (Characher not respawn)
Yush, title. I just try to create own story & try to get charachers respawn in the house, they don't do so. I have set triggers when new game start charchers should to be respawn x position/palces in house but, i don't see them.

Unity say then "x (charcher) has not body. UnityEngine.Debug:Log(Object)

How ever im also set those x charchers "Body RigType" to Eek but, still unity say the same & when i try to start new game, those respawn not still work.

I use for now new Unity 2017 version with one number above version.

In the game install folder there is a Unity.dll. You don't need to do anything with the game install directory at any time, ever. I have the HP Story Creator files saved in my Documents folder and it works just fine. Right now we are using HP CSC 0.6.1, and the Unity version we are using is 2017.4.

In the game install folder there is a Unity.dll. You don't need to do anything with the game install directory at any time, ever. Nope, i just update my unity & start over my test mod but, still thease respawn not working & my characher not respawn into my location.

I just was create new characher (just copy current one & change his a name), create then new "Item Actions" -with custom name "Start". In "Display This action under the following" -I was set 0 order "Is New Game" = True & then "Perform thease game event when selected: -I was set order 1 "Characher->Warp To->Move->Location".

And noting else to test, then if this work but, still not work. x3

My new characher default setuping don't have "Bone Rig Type" Or "Blend Shapes" & there is not any errors or someshot in Unity console editor but, still not working.

If i can get my characher respawn, then i can continue working with my mod. I just do the same & those way that those old tutorial video tell to do but, this not working or do i someting wrong? What yo do? x3

I am having trouble following this. A few things:

1) Why are you copying and renaming a character? Where are you renaming the character? Characters are renamed here: https://imgur.com/UURIYhk and you should not generally be copying or renaming any assets or anything to the left of the Inspector window.

2) Item Actions do not have a custom name field. For the entire 2nd paragraph are you referring to Event Triggers? All you need is an event trigger that fires When the Game Starts, and set up the events for this however you'd like, and then choose whether that is ANY game start, or give it a criteria for Is New Game only (true), like so: https://imgur.com/4nOEzpE

3) You do not need to do anything with Bone Rigs or Blend Shapes. You would not have any control over these anyway and the story creator export wouldn't use whatever you did here. The only thing you can modify is what is in the Inspector panel, for story elements only.

1. I just do this just because, i don't want to edit default source because, if someting going wrong then i have backup so, i can fix this. When i add customed/diffrence characher into custom story scene/file, i just add only those edited/new characher. I was renaming/add those characher same line in unity where everyting else was so, location is the same.

Same with Story prefab file, i just copy this & create/edit new one & use this project/file only to generate the custom story so, im not edit or working with "Story" -file & when i generate custom a story those folder have only *.prefab but, this custom story folder don't have "Characters" -folder.

Otherwise, ty for the info & i try those.

3: I just wondering & ask this just incase if unity/file just lose those info & characher was unvisible just because, body was missing but, good to know. x3

I just acutally try to make mod at start using & edit only default source file with out add or copy thinks but, still looks like then even default charachers not respawn to me even if i do the same.

Are you sure you are following steps from the Custom Story Creator tutorial video?

Watch from 1 minute, to 4 minutes 30 seconds (1:00 to 4:30). Then 6 minutes 3 seconds to about 10 minutes (6:04 to 10:00). Some of this is out of date, but watch what he is manipulating. You should only be touching story and character prefabs under Stories. Nothing under the Hierarchy tab needs to be touched. You also cannot just copy and paste things. You will notice that in the tutorial there is no copy/pasting of anything.

Unity is the tool that the CSC is programmed to function under, but you are NOT actually using any Unity built-in capabilities. Think of the CSC as a little text editor type tool that runs IN Unity. That's it. If you want to save your progress, you need to *Export* the story and character files. This way you can use the *Import* tool later on.

Because i start to see then if i can't get fix thinks then, there should be somewhere else reason for this, then those not respawn.

I was just try to (many times) set respawn location in Story.prefab file into characher names but, not set respawn location into "characher" -files, i just saw then you can set also there those respawn location too but, also i can saw then there is lot of else setuping about charachers, like her dialogs or events, what i can't meaby set into Story.prefab -file.

You don't need to do anything with the actual .character and .story files. Those files are created by the story creator after you export them.

Character start positions should be set within the character prefab, not the story prefab.

You don't need to do anything with the actual .character and .story files. Those files are created by the story creator after you export them.

Character start positions should be set within the character prefab, not the story prefab.

Well, if I am following you, yes you should be working within the character prefab. This link I sent before is the bulk of what you need to do or look at to get characters to spawn: https://imgur.com/4nOEzpE

Unfortunately with some of the steps you took previously, you may have corrupted the story you are working on (or even the tool/settings) past the point of being able to fix it. I would recommend deleting the Story Creator folder, then redownloading it and starting fresh. Then, import the Original Story from your \Documents\Eek...\Original Story folder, and take a look at how that works.

Then, change one, two, or three things there, export THAT as a new Custom Story, and observe the changes. Doing these things will not require anything other than changing a few settings within one character's prefab, and then using the export/apply functionality to turn your changes into a new custom story.

And just make sure you aren't trying to use the Story Name "Original Story". That won't work as we make use of that name and it will be overwritten any time you start the game.

-Yes, i did. My first piority what i said there before is get charachers respawn so, i can then working with my mod, it's not usefull to do anyting if i can't see changes. x3
