Game stuck on load screen
The game gets stuck on the loading screen no matter what I do with display and window size etc
I’ve seen on other threads, ways to fix the problem but none of them worked for me
I’ve checked all file locations etc and all seem to be in the right place
I’ve ran the game as admin and that doesn’t make any difference
When the load screen appears, I get the 3 dots moving as if it’s doing something and then nothing
It also lags the rest of my computer pretty bad and doesn’t close when I click the x at the top

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated

Facing the same issue here. Really hope we can get some help. Was really looking forward to play this and finally buying it since it's on sales. Hope I can play it soon. :(

A few questions:

1) Have you both looked, in detail, into any and all anti-virus, anti-ransomware, anti-ANYthing software your PC might be running?

2) What version of the game are you running?

3) Does the game ever crash at all? If you leave it for a bit does it eventually result in a generic Windows crash (AppHang)?

4) Please provide your system specs: GPU, CPU, Operating System and 32 or 64-bit, system memory/RAM amount.

Sorry for the delay, been really busy with testing for the next release and refactoring some game stuffs.

I have disabled everything to do with the game in my windows defender and don’t run any other anti virus software
I only downloaded the game the other day so I’m guessing it’s the latest version
If I leave the game stuck on the load screen for quite a long time it eventually asks if I want to shut the programme etc as it is not responding
If I try to close it before that my computer just freezes up and gets really laggy
Here is a link to my laptop
It is running on windows 10 though as I had the free upgrade ages ago (regretting it)

i also have the same problem and are hoping its a bug that the developers can fix

Sadly having the same issue. Even after trying every solution, and monitoring for errors in the event viewer. I was only faced with a generic error, and no specifics otherwise. I'm running it on a relatively new laptop. It's quite a disappointment as this was one game I was quite excited to get playing. I do hope there's some solution.

Are you using an integrated GPU or dedicated? An exact model # will suffice, thanks.

Also, where is your Steam game install directory located in comparison to your \Documents\Eek folder? Same drive/partition, or a different one? Do you sync any of your \Documents to OneDrive or other cloud service?

How about you? Integrated GPU or dedicated? An exact model # will suffice, thank you.

Where can I find out what gpu I have?
Everything is in my c drive on my computer
When I downloaded the game I noticed some parts had gone over to my onedrive but I moved everything to the c drive

Try right-clicking on your desktop. You should have an option in the menu that pops up for either Intel Graphics Settings or an NVIDIA, AMD, or Catalyst Control Panel. There will be an option within that Control Panel for "Information Center/Support", "System Info", "About System", something like that.

OR, in your Start Menu/Task Bar, type "Device Manager" and open the Device Manager. In your "Display Adapter" category you will see your GPU listed.

OR, in your Start Menu/Task Bar, type "DXDiag" and when the DirectX Diagnostic tool opens, your GPU (and integrated GPU, if you have one) will be listed under the Display1/2 tabs where it says "Name:".

Where in the C:\ drive did you "move everything" to?

So it’s an AMD Radeon HD 8180
As for where everything is in the c drive
The game is in c/program filesx68/steam/steamapps/common
In that folder is the eek folder, house party data, house party application and unity player.dll

All of my other games are in the same location and work fine

Where did you move the files on your onedrive? If you moved them to any Steam folder, you moved them to the wrong place. The ones on your onedrive, in all likelihood, were supposed to go in your Documents folder. Take a look at the pinned topic concerning the censor patch, it shows you where those files are supposed to be.

Having the same problem here too, GTX950, everything seems to be in order tho

So I’ve been trying to run the game on a different computer but still not working but I’m getting crash reports now
How can I tell where it’s going wrong when looking at the crash files?

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party

First, you want a file called output_log from this directory. Note that this file recreates itself (in other words, deletes the previous contents) every time you run the game, so if you crash you need to make a copy of this file immediately after. This file will contain some good Unity Engine error info and also a stack trace, IF it was a Unity or House Party-related crash.

You will also want the error log from the \Crashes subfolder (C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\LocalLow\Eek\House Party\Crashes). This will have additional info on the crash, but is a bit more general. It does provide more info about what was going on at a system level, however.

Finally, it helps to look at the output of DXDIAG.exe (run from the Start Menu). This will capture graphics card info, system data, and a summary of some recent Windows errors.

Make sure you are all going into your graphics card control panel (generally found by right clicking on your desktop and looking for NVIDIA Control Panel or Intel Graphics Settings, Catalyst, etc.), and looking at Resolution, Scaling, Aspect Ratio, and Desktop Size/Rotation settings. There is a known issue with some combinations of Unity versions and Windows where not having aspect ratios set to "full screen" or trying to force custom scaling, aspect ratios, different rotation compositions, or custom resolutions can cause crashes. Also take a look at the Windows Display Settings (again by right clicking on your desktop) and try ensuring that App/Text/Desktop scaling is set to 100%/default.

Again also ensure that the Steam overlay or any other program utilizing an overlay like MSI Afterburner/Riva Tuner, Twitch, etc. are temporarily disabled.
