Report a translation problem
Then, go into the folder for your custom story, find its .story file and open it (via notepad is fine), and look for two lines that will resemble this (they will not necessarily be next to each other, and are generally in fact at the opposite ends of the file):
"HousePartyVersion": "0.8.8"
"StoryName": "Original Story"
Make sure that the story name on these lines matches the name of the .story file, and that THAT matches the folder name. Also ensure that in the .story file the version says 0.8.8 (or whatever version of the game you are running, formatted as x.x.x).
Also, go into the .character files for that story (in the folder you just ensured matched the name of the .story file), and look again for this line:
"StoryName": "Original Story"
Make sure that also matches the .story file name, and the folder name, etc.
This will allow you to load the story in the title screen and attempt to play it. HOWEVER, if the story in question has not been updated with the latest version of the Custom Story Creator to keep pace with mechanical/code changes we've made, it may not function properly.
