Not able to Download Original Story

Hi I'm wondering if anyone else has been able to download the original story for 0.7.7? Everytime I try it states my firewall must be on or something only thing is I dont have a firewall lol

You most likely do, either via Windows Firewall or some piece of Security Software (Norton, Comodo, Avast, etc.) you have installed. Check your installed programs as well as the Windows Action/Security center to see what you might be running that fits such a description.

Thanks for the reply, I figured out the issue. My network decieded to change from home to Public. All good now :P

*Edit* Apparently no I still cannot dl the original story. The firewall is already disabled and my windows defender has the house part folders and steamin general exluded and still no avail.

Ok I found out the issue, http://games.eekllc.com/download/stories/OriginalStory.0.7.7.zip this doesnt exist. So if your like me and missed a few patches you cant get the original story but if you go to http://games.eekllc.com/download/stories/OriginalStory.0.7.5.zip or http://games.eekllc.com/download/stories/OriginalStory.0.7.6.zip your all good

The entire path changed. Since we are now including the Chinese translation by default, it isn't just a folder of stories:

http://games.eekllc.com/Download/stories/Mods.0.7.7.zip

Regardless, the game client itself definitely works...I just deleted my entire Eek folder (yes, for stories, censorship, and language our dev versions pull off this too) and re-ran the game via Steam and was able to play.

Its odd cause I have uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled after a restart of the PC, everything is off and it still isn't letting me download the stories telling me it's blocked.

Not in browser blocked, sorry should have worded better. I've turned on and then re-turned off my firewall, uninstalled the game, restarted my PC then disabled my AV while it still has Steam folder under its exceptions and all executables within then reinstalled the game and restarted the PC.

After all that it still tells me I'm blocked ingame. At least the manual link works and it's only this game I'm having the issue with so I'm not sure either.

FYI Steam is not what you need to add an exception for. In the case of House Party, Steam literally just launches the HouseParty.exe file from the Steam apps directory. House Party itself is what needs to be given read/write, anti-virus, and firewall exceptions. Glad you were able to work it out regardless, though!
