be prepared for the huge scale difference
i have this on psvr

and it's tottally redesigned the game

it's just just normal skyrim with a vr option tacked on.

they changed the scale of everything

so for example your walking past some rocky ledges then in normal pc version came up to say waist height.

in VR those same ledges tower over you

also things like tables and items etc are all massive.

and lastly game is super easy mode in VR.

you can just flail your arms around and instant kill anything in 2 secs.

cuz there is no stamina for attacking in VR, only if you choose to do a.power attack which is completely pointless in VR

However, the fallout contribution is speculation on my part.

yea i saw they said the psvr was a base for the pc version and of course they will deffinitly build and improve on what they learnt from the PS version

improvements aside, i cant imagine how it would change gameplay wise at all, if much on PC, aside from being able to manually being able to change VR scale

anyway, my main point was that its a entirely new experience in VR and the scale changes that, so it doesnt feel like your playing the same old pc version anymore if people are worring about playing the exact same Skyrim release again for the 11th time or how ever many versions there are lol

You do however realise that even if the scale is somewhat wrong things can still appear somewhat normal if you're taller/smaller than the average man because the game might be built with a character of your height?

I'm 187 cm for example and f04 vr never felt huge to me, people were just a bit taller than the average person
Scale was off in FO4VR. But, no, no variation. You can test this yourself with a friend that has a noticeably different height. You just need a tape measure.

Fire up fallout 4 VR. Load a game. Have your friend toggle the ai (tai) in console when you and your companion is on flat ground (You can do this with dogmeat). Now, put your controler to the top of your companions head and have your friend measure to the ground. Now take off your HMD, don't change any settings and have your friend place the controler in the same place above their head, measure. You will get the same number. The HMD will not change in-game scale.

On another note, if you scale the game to the human characters are about 5ft 9.5inches (average height for a US male, I'd give metric but don't have the conversion handy), the furniture will be proper scale.
I haven't said that things would change when you exchange headsets between people. Just that pretty small people seem to play VR. My height is a bit above 6'2 in freedom units iirc.

My point was that many people said the scale was off but when I forcefully set the scale to what they considered to be normal everyone appeared as if they were small teens in size. Which leads me to believe that they measure their short height against stuff which they've only got to see through the in-game characters eye before. This character could've been set as 220cm for example and normal looking stuff for him might look big to players when they enter the world. That's all I meant. I'm with you about how scale work :)

Wont happen. There is a melee weapon setting in the .ini file that prevents this from happening in FO4VR, Im guessing it will exist in Skyrim as well. It sets an attack rate limit based on the speed of the weapon.

Either way, Skyrim was a cakewalk on the flatscreen too.

On average, you guys in Sweden are about an 1inch taller then us. Character being a little shorter then normal should be the right scale. The game doesn't carry much variation in NPC height.

Let's hope they learned from fallout 4, should have had that scale slider from the begining.

The slider you're referring to is in SteamVR settings... it's been there....

No, it's not. It's in Fallout 4's options. I've not used steam VR in a month. But there wasn't any slider there before. Or are you thinking OpenVR tools?

It's called "height" and it's the scale slider.

It's been there since I owned my Vive.

Adjust it taller and things scale down, adjust it lower and things scale up.......

That's odd, what headers might I find this setting under?

A lot of us already played Fallout4VR. FO4VR had pretty good scale. I did play Skyrim VR on the PSVR and immediately noticed how "gimped" it was due to being on the PS4 (I actually own the PSVR Skyrim VR bundle; which I haven't really played since it's on PS4). Hopefully the PC version is more comparable to the FO4VR we have for PC.

I have 500 hours in on the psvr version and i say the scale is just right. You will have many moments catching your breath on heights and especially the expansive dungeons. Maybe it was just me because i played skyrim for the first time ever all in vr. But i will say this. I have oldrim extremely modded out and actually put down the Psvr version to play that one instead. There will be a point where the vr 'oh wow I'm really here' honeymoon will end and you will be sad for lack of a graphical overhaul. If pc gets the same version without mods it will only be good for so long.

lucky us we can set vr player scale in the INI files on PC

I played hours on the PSVR and didn't notice ANY different scaling. It is what VR does, i makes things the true size
