Hackers or bots in the game?

So after the latest patch I noticed a few players acting straight up like TF2 bots, predicting spawns and locking on to you when they are miles away, these players have real pings which begs the question either hacks or bots? they are not that good playing game, you can see how clumsy they walk around, sometimes missing important items on the map but again, is the lock on and the weird prediction while spawning or coming out of a teleport just like the official bots do.

Here´s an example I witnessed last night, so I am playing TDM on Burial Chamber, I get fragged and spawn by the RL near the ledge on the second level, while I pick the RL a Nyx player across the map goes right up the L shape stairs, sees me, and proceeds to lock on to me with the LG and even though it cannot reach me it continues to fire while perfectly mimicking my strafing, I was like WOW, I do not believe a human player with some knowledge of the game can attempt to attack an enemy that far away with the Lighting Gun, this is a stupid behavior and on top of that they way she was locking on to me even though it could not reach me.

Today, while playing TDM on Blood Run we had a clumsy Scale Bearer kind of doing the same thing and this was a human player because he talked in the chat.

Any thoughts, have you guys encountered players with similar behavior?

yea this doesnt sound at all like cheating i gotta be honest
i doubt they were "perfectly mimicking" your strafing, might seem like it but na not really.
some people dont actually know ranges on weapons and ♥♥♥♥ so he might have just you know, tried shooting or maybe forgot to switch weapons.
spawns have nothing to do with cheats as well if someone knows how to force spawns (speaking more about duels) then they just know... its not that of a problem.
in tdm i never bothered to check but i think its just random spawns but everything is random there.
i dont think there was actual lock on like you said, but rather just seems like it.
some people just know what to do more than others :D no shame in not being one of them

yea this just sounds like me when i go TDM. i always plays nyx.

But of course, the usual super pro macho player, with 45.1KD that tells ppl to git gud and blah blah blah meanwhile I bet you suck at the game. I don't remember saying I lost those matches or getting owned, but what can we expect from someone like you? I'm looking forward to see you win the tournament today MR PRO, I'll be cheering for you hopefully I can learn from you as well. -_-

you can easily tell when you are playing against a pro or a really good player, positions, map awareness, items timing etc, now when you see someone that can barely walk straight, does not bunny hop and misses a MH when is about to spawn but conveniently flips around when you spawn and proceeds to shoot even though he's that far away is very interesting, personally I've been playing the game since early beta days (spring 2017) on that god awful Bethesda launcher and son far I probably encountered maybe half of dozen hackers in total, so if I do encounter them I speak up, to make ppl and devs aware, nothing to do with losing a match or getting owned by a better player, I've proudly lost against Rapha, Skillz and many more players that could easily mop the floor with me, nothing wrong with that.

The AntiCheat is updated at the same time the game is updated. Could be 'players' messing around with some new cheats, seeing which are working or not?

playing since 2017 but still less than 700 hours? when you started playing doesnt really matter you obviously dont have that much experience :p its not a bad thing none of this is a problem. i just dont think that you are right about those things. you are of course welcome to share the usernames of the people who you suspect, always helps more to determine

So you´re saying QC is 110% free of hackers? cause I can go on youtube and find you a bunch videos right now... so just under 700 hours, I guess all my years playing Q3, Q4, Painkiller, UT2K4 and 2K7 count for nothing when it comes to reporting an obvious hacker.

You know what let me just leave it right here, no point on continuing with this discussion, out of all the games on Steam, Quake Champions is the one exception for hackers GG.

i am more worried that after 700h he is still this bad.
after 700h back in 2017 i was already 2k in duels. Meanwhile this guy is claiming some rando railing him in burial chamber, literally the most braindead rail map in the game (besides TLY) is a cheater.
