Quake Champions

Quake Champions

View Stats:
2020 Quake Champions Stuttering.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 6Gb .
Tried to optimize the game in any way with video settings, changing also settings to the graphic card, running the game optimized with GeForce experience but nothing.
The game for some unknown reason still stutter, still having micro stuttering and freezing is ruining all the experience.
Any idea on any possible fix, i informed myself and it seems like is from the patch of 2018 that it keeps like that.

Yea, it may be that your only problem is with QC, because the servers are so scarce, or perhaps it's location in proximity to you. The 0.64 Mbps though is probably accurate and changes during different times of the day, I would check it several times, thoughout an average evening during "peak" playing times, and see how it averages over several days.

It's obvious, by the video, you were pretty smooth up until that the network started blinking, and your stuttering shortly followed It's not not the computer, it's the network.

As you probably already know, your bandwidth on cable, is "shared" with your neighbors, so your uploads are going to change depending on local traffic conditions. It might be worth checking your connections on those cables also, make sure you getting good connections.

I will choose this as the reply but i won't close this discussion, i'm sure all of those comments could be very useful for other people as well and is been a gorgeous conversation with everyone.

Never let GeForce Experience optimize qc, it always broke it for me. Set everything to like High and 100% res scale, works well for me on 2060 Super

I would look into your network and do some testing. Maybe try even some of the higher ping servers, and see if you getting better results.

I'm hearing lot's of people from EU having issues, and with some of the servers.

Well i'm from italy so i use EU Center servers, so it might be that the problem if EU Servers are gicing problems but then when i try to do a private match is still the same.

Are you having significant packet loss? Are your ports forward?
https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ Check and see if TCP 11721 is open, for instance.

The private matches are still based on the server. Click on you little globe at the bottom, and select a few servers that are say under 100 ms ping if possible, and try them one at a time...

If you're having problems with massive packet loss, it will show up as orange !!! in the upper left hand corner of your screen, periodically.

Can you record a short video of game play in nvidia experience and post it? Moving around, firing guns... It might give some insight as to what's going on...

I can't imagine your problems revolve around Video, CPU or Memory. I suspect networking problems.

What kind of networking setup do you have? Cable, DSL, FiOS? Also, are you using any wireless devices, especially networking ones? FPS don't like wireless whatsoever, so it's best to be using hard wires, preferably at 1000 Mb/s or better wires.

NIC connection is idea.

Also, do you have a router, and what type? Or is it simply a cable box, or some sort of modem?

what are your upload and download speeds? https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
also, take this latency test, and post the results https://testmy.net/latency

It test consistency of your network on various connections worldwide.

What settings are you running at? I have the same graphics card and had the same problem - I found simply turning textures down from Ultra to High pretty much fixed it. Funnily enough I didn't have any problems before the last patch.

Networking should be Cable, Router doesn't have any antenna.

This is the speed test i took:

My computer runs everything at Ultra with 125% texture, yeah, put it in High and with just 100% helped a bit but i still have those problems even if not that much like before.

This is a 15 sec video i took

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRPeY6zOaBU

basically when i play it keeps doing like that, the red icon usually is not there, is just the orange one but still.

The red one is severe packet loss, and the yellow one is a framerate drop warning.

If it's mostly the yellow one you get then try reducing your settings a bit.

Your upload speed is very low - is it usually only 0.64?

Yeah it is. What bothers me is that it only does that with Quake Champions.
