while players move in bursts and keep hitting 2000 ms after i am covered. theN just turning lag switch on and i am disconnected .
Lets just hope that QC will get some sort of working anticheat in future and please, do not only ban accounts, do some sort of hardware-ban this people. (other games can do it too!)
Most online games have some sort of cheaters, its why I have not played Diabotical since the second closed beta test, there was a hacker that would spawn kill everyone on the server at the same time, as soon as you respawned you kept automatically getting killed.
Software used for Cheating/Hacking are getting more advanced, that developer's can't keep up, with its technology.
There is some kind of anticheat in QC, and it does work just not very well and not all the time, he was already banned once a few months ago after someone made a post on the forums and everyone reported him. Also i'd rather have an less effective anticheat tool than Riot's rootkit on my system, devs should just use EasyAntiCheat, not too intrusive and works pretty well.
Bottom line. It's a constant, ongoing problem that's not easily addressed. Sorta in the same vein as networking security, (trojan) virus software, identity theft, hacking in general...
It's all about the countermeasures in place, tracking, patching, vulnerabilities. Also, weeding out the bad actors, one by one, if necessary. (assisted w/use of data collection).
The community could very likely be self policing if the correct protocol system, were put in place.
If you were playing in a competition with big prize money then I could at least understand someone's motivation to cheat...I absolutely would not condone it and I would wish the harshest penalties possible on those that did...but I could understand their motivations.
But cheating in "regular games" is just so bizarre...I just don't understand how people can get any satisfaction out of winning a game that they know they cheated in...even if the opposition didn't realise you cheated...you would know...you would know that you are a total loser...what sort of life is that ? Playing for "hollow victories", nothing "real", no "substance" to your life...and always knowing that you're a total loser...doesn't sound like any fun to me...seems like a road to depression and self-loathing.
some of them cant win at all so they cheat from frustration. but yeah very stupid and ♥♥♥♥ think to do
Bingo. Just go over to the foxnews forums (or any conservative website) and simply read down the thread lines. The internet has created an outlet for otherwise "unacceptable" social aggression. ie. Things people used to do to each other, but are now becoming stigmatized, outlawed, criminalized. Humans are in uncharted territory, where their entire reputations and/or llivelihoods are dependent upon these "social expectations", ie. public correctness.
Opportunities such as these (cheating, trolling) are evolving into outlets,(coping mechanisms) ie. pressure valves, to let out built up (suppressed) anger, aggression...
Maybe more functional than becoming a sociopath, but not exactly "healthy" coping mechanism either, but somewhere in the middle. Creepy, dishonest, but STILL legal... (I am rebel badass mentality) But in reality, more of a punk nobody.
Could be easily fixed if they used some 3rd party anticheat like EAC/Battleye so they don't have to maintain that themselves too
It certainly is an eye-opener :-(
...very sad if there are people out there "playing" in this fashion
...if they are then they are total losers both in game and in life
...and they know it :-(
