And yes, even one player over 100 makes the game behave very strange.
People have asked for more servers and Bethesda is slowly adding them. What else can players do? Not play?
Some how they do have the Icelandic flags in there games.
Nintendo does not even let you select Iceland as a country so I had to do UK instead.
Good for you that you have a server close by when I was still living in the Netherlands and had 11 ping all the time I was playing a way better.
So instead of feeling bad for yourself feel bad for people who play with more then 50 ping, because with this netcode its like playing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RPG.
I sometimes end up hitting a rail but the chance is atleast 50/50 that it does not registrate.
To answer what goes trough my head?
♥♥♥♥ how can people be so stupid to think Iceland isnt a country? Cause its pretty much one of the ritchest ones
♥♥♥♥ why can't we rent servers?
O and the one that comes to mind a lot when some Nyx with low ping has an advantage grabbing the Quad or causes 90% of my rails not to registrate is mainly ♥♥♥♥ OFF
My favorite thought is
Why the ♥♥♥♥ is the Ireland server 79 ping while its close by but the Rotterdam one 60 while its 3x the distance...
Its neoliberal economics unfortunately. Your countries pop is too low for corps to care. There is still a chance it will all come crumbling down. Its why some of the most beautiful places in the world are under populated - the system draws people to high pop centres like moths to a flame.
I could hop in the car and be sitting on top of Dublin server in an hour, yet I get 28 in Dublin and 20 in Rotterdam, 25 in Frankfurt.
Note: Dublin only has a server because a lot of big tech compaines have operations there for tax reasons.
I don't have a local server and yet I have around at least 4 servers when I have and playing with ping 40-60 ms. So this is not just having or not a local server, but and how good your ISP is.
Every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Online Games always popup these threads.
It depends on how long it takes for your registered hit to reach the server which means if your ping is lower your hits will register on the server side first.
I have honestly never seen the winner complain about an opponents ping, it always seems to be the losers that suddenly start screaming about ping even though their shots are actually processed first over the delayed clients shots which possibly hit you first anyway ...
Because it is client side, the one with the lower ping will always win.
I can't tell you how many times I hit a shot only to die a little bit after and my shot ends up not registering.
On my end, I would have won, but the person with the lower ping sends the command to the server first, so he wins.
Lower ping wins - it's simply FIFO
All the servers that was ticked were showing 250+ ping, most of the others were between 150-50.
I didn't try out anything about this list, but my guess is that you may be able to exclude servers with high ping just to keep servers with low ping.
While it might be a good idea to do that, it will not prevent players with high ping to join your game, and they might join because there's no other people for you to play with. Don't know yet how the matchmaking works, but you cannot win on every field when it comes to ping, latency, and bandwith.
Through my head?
Mostly anger because here in Chile there aren't dedicated servers like in the entire North American countries, the world isn't just USA. There is a single Brazilian server but in the current state of the game with less than 5000 players (mostly 2000) I rather play with a 100+ ping than having to wait 15 minutes in queue to find a match.
So, now through the devs head?
They are probably thinking that since the game is not popular enough it wouldn't be profitable to open more south american (or Iceland or other places in the world) servers when the player base is so low, if a single Brazilian server takes half an hour in queue then why give us more servers? Also, why make ping restrictions when the only thing it will do is destroy their own game. Thankfully they do want other people from around the world to play the game, not just people from US.
Now, my question, what is going through your head and everyone else who complains about this matter when it's futile with the amount of players in game?
Wait don't answer, nothing is going through that elitist head of yours.
