Its me or the game has no supposedly anticheat?
No-one will say there are NO cheats in Quake Champions. But there aren't very many compared to the number of very good players in the game.
blaming all your loses on people "cheating" is a bad way to cope and you should accept you need to get better to win more :p
Most personality traits are well over 50% genetic anyway. 100 years of socialism hasn't exactly been breeding us for any aspect of politeness or conscientiousness.
Also, if you don't expect things from others, you will never be disappointed.
Why does aimbot matter with elite players, they never miss either...hehehe
I wont quote your entire post cos it's quite long and people can look above this post and read it for themselves...it's a great post. I kinda think this line of discussion deserves it's own thread (as I tried to point out earlier) because it's not strictly about "cheating" but that said, we're here now...and your lengthy post does sorta bring the two topics together in a fashion because "cheating" is in itself "toxic" ;-)
It is very unfortunate that there is a portion of the community (Quake, internet in general...and real life) that might be described as "toxic" but, to ensure we're on the same page, we need to define what "toxic" is. Without setting boundaries around the definition of that word it can be highly subjective...one person's "friendly ribbing" is another person's "malicious, hate speech" that must be crushed with "extreme prejudice" under an authoritarian "steel boot" ;-) so I'm always very cautious of the idea that speech should be moderated and/or controlled, especially by a 3rd party.
When it comes to the game itself we have the option to put people on a personal ignore list...which is a very useful feature. I've been playing the game for three years now and I think I have maybe 6 people on that list...so I average 2 a year ;-) I don't put people on my list just for occasionally saying things I don't like...I'm of the generation that grew up with the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones...but names will never hurt me" and I generally want to hear what someone else has to say because if you're not free to speak then I'm not able to learn if you're someone that I like or not. Tolerance of other people's speech (and behaviour) is also a subjective thing though...many people that claim they are very tolerant are actually some of the most intolerant people you'll ever meet if you don't agree with them ! I like the fact that we have this "ignore" feature and it's for everyone to decide for themselves if and when they wish to use it (and thinking about it now I'll probably clear my ignore list and start afresh...).
Right, so that's "speech in game" dealt with...but that's just one aspect of "toxicity". What about "speech in this discussion forum" for example ? Well, again, I sorta think people should be able to say what they want as long as I can choose not to listen to them but unlike in the game, we have no "ignore list" (as far as I know ?) which does complicate matters. Perhaps an ignore list in discussion forums would be a useful feature ? I'd quite like the option to ignore all future posts by someone for 1-12 months for example...but failing that we have to exercise some behavioural control of our own. We can at least attempt to manually skip posts from names we recognise if we choose and/or not engage with those posts. Learning not to get riled up and/or engage with disingenuous posts is actually a valuable skill...like you say "Stop. Just close that stupid door".
I'm not much of a social media person and before I started playing Quake Champions I don't really recall ever getting involved in any discussion forums...but when I started playing this game I did...and it's been quite a learning experience ;-) which I think was similar to the "awakening" you describe when you "returned" from MMORPGs. I was under the misapprehension that someone repeatedly coming to a discussion forum, specifically about one game, would have the "best interests" of that game and it's community at heart and would be operating "in good faith"...I was apparently very naive ;-)
In "my World" a rational, reasonable person that really dislikes a game will, perhaps after voicing their opinion, move on to other games or other activities that they do like. That would seem to be sensible and logical. They wouldn't choose to spend their time (their life !) visiting a discussion forum dedicated to the game they profess to hate to keep saying "dead game" (etc.) ...for years !!! I don't really understand the motivations of these people and to be frank, after trying many times, I've given up...my best guess (as Alfred Pennyworth said in Dark Knight) "some men just want to watch the World burn" so they're not really worth my time. Ignore and move on.
I disagree with your "blanket statement" "So I just shut this door and seek friendship anywhere but on the internet now" because I have made several friends through Quake Champions ("the internet"). Granted, I've not (yet) met them in real life but I wouldn't be surprised if that happens one day...I remember when I first started playing Q2 that by playing with several people regularly and using stuff like "ICQ" we eventually formed friendships online, we got a clan together and I did then end up travelling to meet them irl more than once...good times ! :-)
Take care, don't give up on humanity just yet...while I agree society appears to be in a massive decline, especially over the past 6 or 7 years, there are still good people out there.
the cheaters shine in modes where you can use cheat advantage for example in normal scenario guy with starting machinegun should have no chance against lightning gun but with cheats his damage rate is way quicker and doing more dps than lightning gun. that what happened to rapha in this video i provided.
No, not that, but I still have decency towards other people.
