Aim Lab and QC
Has anyone tried to improve their aim with this game? What modes and settings did they use? Does it even work?

I play Kovaak's instead. It helps. It won't make a great pro quaker out of you just like that, but it helps a lot. I suggest you to visit Kovaak's reddit and/or google 'Voltaic' (which is a community of aimers) if you want to figure out what's up with that. Just remember one thing - to be good at THE GAME you have to play THE GAME.

Aiming better in quake won't help you. Your problem is you have less stack and are using the wrong gun and standing in the wrong place.

But aim lab doesn't help. The only aim training that helps are certain custom scenes in kovaaks.

However the most efficient aim trainer is just. Quake Champions.

Pretty sure the point of these programs are to streamline your aiming with each games different settings and finding what works for you based on your mouse movement.

While you are correct about the importance of stacks, as well as map control, if your aiming is too slow or fast that will be a huge problem too.

I haven't used any of the programs, I don't know if this is what you mean by QC being the best aim trainer, but I just pay attention to how I'm doing in each FPS and make minor adjustments to the in game sensitivity daily.

if you practise every part of the game and divide all its aspects to work on them indiviudally, which you should btw, training your aim is a integral part to get better as a quake player.

all other aspects like positioning, dodging, map knowledge, champ knowledge etc. are equally important.

here is a suggestion on how to do it without any additional programs:
