If the Quake reboot rumors are true, I'd like to see Ranger's dire orb as a part of your arsenal

I'm sure lots of purists would disagree, but I think the orb could function really well in a single player environment with proper balancing. Imagine using it to telefrag Shamblers, or traversing chasms. It would help give the game its own identity, like glory kills did for modern Doom.

Well no. Brutal kills was made for gamepads for example. There a lot of micromechanic in games maded for consoles but it hard to discribe.

For example: fast weapon switch work only at direct key. If you manualy press buttons of weapons it will switch not so fast like at this special key.

the reboot will not go full re1tard at first. they will try to ease ppl into it. some QTEs here some glory kills there. they will go above and beyond in the sequel the way they did with eternal doom.

they already did changed quake 1 in the anniversary update to some degree which you as a player have to change back to the way it was originally. talking movement speed and of course weapon wheel without weapon binding in the settings.
true, they patched it in later on but it's still shady as f4uck and the movement change stayed.

as if anybody plays quake 1 with a controller except for, you guessed it, console "fps veterans"

Thats what they like doing nowadays, completely twist and reset the lore, make up narrative to fit their outcome. The most recent thing they did was matrix, f'd up the entire franchise only to win some brownie points.

i watched the first 5 minutes of the "new" matrix and immediately deleted the file from my hard drive. it's a parody that has nothing to do with the first three films.

you know how they will end the trilogy quake reboot? the final end boss will be the original ranger who for some reason was the villain all along. that way we can destroy the patriarchy and free minorities which were oppressed once and for all.
