Ranked Elo System
Hello Quakers , i have smth. to complain about.

Me an my Buddy are pretty decent in Quake we ranked in Silver II and got a Win Ratio of 3,2 which is pretty decent imo. But im feeling realy sad about the System , and here is why :

We played 10 Games won 9 of them every game we recieved 5-9 Points as soon as we loose we lost 15-21 Points.

So if i do the Math correctly you basicly only gain about 0-6 Elo after every 3 Matches which is about 45 Minutes of time Spending.

Im familiar with Elo Systems like " True Skill Systemes " where you have to win a BUNCH of games so the Systeme kind of "tests" you if you are good enought to keep climbing the Ladder.

BUT this "Test" is WAY to hard to climb normaly its about the next "3-5 Matches" after you will recieve the regular 15-25 points after winning a Match.

So i would suggest it would be better if Bethesda would readjust the Elo Value you will recieve.

I would like to hear your guys thoughts are about the elo Systeme & and what if they should readjust the systeme.

Until than i wish happy shooting :).

the SR gained and lost is based on your opponents SR, you gain more from beating higher rated players and you lose more from losing to lower rated players

Yes ofc , i know but that is what i mean , its more of a gamble instead of a true Skill Elo System. And its still unbalanced if you win 10 matches in a row you lose one and you lose the last 3 Wins.
It is just a bad system.

This is basicly in every elo systeme ,and we checked it out , we noticed NO difference in a Gain / Lose of points no matter how big the difference in Points is.

Our Elo if i play 2v2 with my mate is ~ 1214 and the enemy team is ofc about the same but yesterday we won against a 1350 Team and only recieved 5 Points.

The next match we lost against a 1390 Team and lost 16 Points , this is the unbalance im Talking about and ppl have to notice that .

It's a fair system. If you lose a match you are supposed to win, it means your current rank is wrong and not deserved.

You dont understand the Ppint... ITs about the wrong Math they did , they reversed the Lost/Gain of Elo after winning / Losing.

Just lost a 2 vs 2 against more ranked than me and my team mate, I lost more than if we have won against unranked beginners. There something to fix.

Got the same problem, and i think having a win ratio of 3+ shouldn't happen.

Doesn't mean the system should just throw you against way better enemies, but i'd say a fair amount of these wins were probably "free" wins basically, boring for the winners, and off putting for the beginners.

Can you see the skill rating of who you just beat? Or lost to? Also, do the rankings reset every so often to offer a clean start for everyone?

Is your in-game name Doggzy? I took a look at https://stats.quake.com/profile/Doggzy
These were your 4 most recent matches:
  1. Your team's rating [1189, 1177] VS unranked [985, 985]. You won and got +6.
  2. Your team's rating [1195, 1185] VS unranked [944, 944]. You won and got +5.
  3. Your team's rating [1200, 1192] VS [1006, 1006]. You won and got +7.
  4. Your team's rating [1207, 1201] VS [1212, unranked 954]. You lost -16.

It seems fair to me. In your last match you were kinda expected to win since your opponent's average rating was lower than yours and they had a very low rating player, but you lost 18-50.

U sir made my day I appreciate the Time you spent to look it out, this seems to be fair than. I still think they could adjust the gain a little bit.
