not launching on linux
been playing on ubuntu using Proton until the last update, after it the game won't launch. I've seen some ways to fix that for windows, but does anyone have an idea what to do if I'm using Proton on linux? Already tried turning off overlays, didn't help

They added anti-cheat, game no longer works on Linux.

Hey I would get crucified for saying this in the community, I'm a linuxer myself (I manage servers at work and I run desktop Linux on my laptops at home), but...just dual boot for games. Or do PCI passthrough with a VM if you really don't want to dual boot. You'll be saving yourself a ton of trouble and time you can spend on playing your favourite games, including Quake now. They implemented anti-cheat and you know how anti-cheats are on Linux (or aren't, to be more precise).

I actually had a way better experience with single player games on linux, even those that were not approved as compatible with proton. But thanks for the advice, I should probably take it for multiplayer games. Even kernel 5.11 didn't help(
