How to play Anarki
Hi, I'm a new Quake player.

I know basic movement and aiming, I'd like to know about playing Anarki specifically. Any kind of tip regarding him helps.

during my learning curve I noticed that I was constantly switching weapons because of the range. For longest range rail/heavy machinegun; mid-close lg or nail; close-shotgun. however if you want to practice one weapon it is much better if you keep using that one only trough the entire match so you get used to it much faster.

Don't aim at your enemy. Aim at his next position.

That's more like a normal frag video, but I'll watch it still.

if your dead set on anarki you must master the movement. you need to learn strafe jumping, b hopping and the difference between q3a and cpma movement (which is why he doesnt need to be your first champ). thats his only gift. turning which makes him faster than the others even tho he has a lower top speed atm. the map is your weapon with anarki. the corners the turns, they are your only advantage in a game built against you.

Forget anarki for the moment
This is my style of playing Anarki: Use Adrie whenever it's not on cooldown, get all refresh orbs I can and fill enemies wid' nails.

That's kind of useless tbh, you might just wanna play either slash or nyx if that's the case. Each anarki juice buff him by 3, if you use them basically just hoping you would be tankier than nyx/slash then you need to juice yourself at least 10 times. Man idk, felt useless if you are not actually using the regeneration for fights tbh.

Already told that possible unfair difficulty does not matter to me.

Here are few tips from a QC noob who also chose anarki as his first character. To be honest if there was no Anarki, I wouldn't even bother playing QC, because other character (except Sorlag, but he is too slow) are restricted in movement and I couldn't care less about them.

So, I played for only 6 hours so far and here are few things you might or might not know.

1. You noted that you are fine with basic movement in QC, but did you know that QC jumping works automatically if you press and hold jump button. This means that you almost don't need any skill to perform strafe jumping. Since movement freedom and speed is everything in arena shooters, you need to gain maximum speed as soon as the round begins. Turn on speedometer in game settings. This will help you to understand what slows you down/what gives you an acceleration, etc.

Now start moving forward. Press and hold jump button. Once you will perform your first jump release forward movement button. At this point you will be at 320+ units per second. Continue gaining speed by pressing left and right buttons and turn your mouse accordingly.

If you don't know what a strafe jumping is, here is a video I found right now:

2. Once you are at 680 units per second, start exploring maps. Don't jump into fights with every guy you meet. It's true that Anarki is stupidly weak hp/armor wise.

Focus on learning maps, note hp, armor, other pickups locations. Remember where are weapons located. Once you pick up shotgun/nail gun, you can start killing weaker players, who don't see you/can't fight you back that well. There are plenty noobs out there playing right now. Same as we. So don't bother that much finishing every fight and feel free to run away. Mostly they are not some pro level players that will instally kill you as soon as you turn them your back.

~4-5 hours will be enough to get familiar with map layouts. At this point you will feel much better about navigating them, so start finding optimal routes for your playstyle (best circles around the map that don't slow you down), never stop moving.

3. Try to avoid collisions with enemies, since they will slow you down down to 0 ups.

4. Try to use your ability as much as you can. It will build up health over time. Just don't waste it when your hp is full. Heal when you need to, don't be greedy.

That pretty much sums all my knowledge about QC that I've gained in those 6 hours. Don't know how usefull or true this information is. So try at your own risk, I guess.

Unfortunately I only have footage of my Instagib gameplay, and I can't play Quake right now. I'll get that footage later-

i watched you gameplay, you should first take a look at the way you are moving around the map, it really need a lot of work from your side. Your aim isn't good either but i have seen way worse so you will get this right in time after learning how to moove.

Since you play anarki you have to become perfect at moving around the map if you want to compete, plus your aiming have to be on point so you engage with better stacks than your opponnent does.

So as said earlier: first learn to straff jump, then learn how to roam the map
