Hello Quakers,

We have been monitoring the forums since yesterday's January update, and we are aware that the crash-to-desktop fix that was included in this update did not resolve crashes all users. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience these crashes have caused; it is our top priority right now to squash this problem, and we are devoting all of our resources towards getting players back into the Arena.

In order for us to finally resolve this bug, we're going to need your help. If you are one of the players still being affected by the bug, please create a ticket with our support team:

  1. Go to https://help.bethesda.net
  2. Click on Quake Champions
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click "Additional Support"
  4. Select Windows (for the Bethesda Launcher) or Steam as applicable.
  5. Click Technical Support.
  6. Answer the minimum requirements question.
  7. At the bottom select "My game is crashing/freezing"
  8. Click the next button
  9. You will now be at an email field, it also has a file attachment button at the bottom with which you can attach your DxDiag report as the page requests.

Please provide as much of the following info as you can:

  • In-game username, and Steam username

  • KSIVA: this will be displayed at the bottom of the main menu after connecting. If you are able to connect to the main menu before the game crashes, please note what your KSIVA is and include it in your ticket.

  • Your DXDiag. You can create a DXDiag report by doing the following:
    1. In the Windows start bar, type "Run," hit enter. Type "DxDiag" in the dialogue box, and click OK.
    2. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click, "Save All Information" to save a DxDiag.txt file.

We want to help you get back into the game, so please take a few minutes to send us this information.

After sending a ticket, you may also want to check out this troubleshooting thread for workarounds you can try that have worked for some of your fellow players in the community.

There needs to be more precise instructions on how to send the ticket. "game crashes" is an option for two different categories in help and only one lets you attach a DxDiag. Also is KSIVA what we input into the "server" field?

it should be -> steam -> game crashes. KSIVA you input in the comments field, input server in the server field.

The auto response is a version of the possible solutions included in this thread http://steamcommunity.com/app/611500/discussions/0/2549465882937081594/

There are several possible solutions because different ones have worked for different people, and they cannot know which, if any, will assist you, especially when they do not know what you are or are not running.

The important part of contacting support in this manner as you have been asked to, is that you supply the dxdiag log as requested so that support can gather as much information about players systems as possible in order for the game to be fixed as neccessary, especially for those who have tried all of the different possible solutions dilligently and still are unable to play.

Just have got the same auto response....

FFS, there is problem with Steam version of game. When im playing with Bethesda launcher game working fine. So it's not my PC, windows updates or DNS settigns. This is just ridiculous....

Support is very well aware that for *some* of the users experiencing issues it's specific to Steam, that's why they started giving Bethesda Launcher codes to users that requested them.

It's also why disabling the Steam overlay, and the new Steam Shader Cache system that was launched at about the same time as these issues started to occur is in the thread listing things that have solved the issue for some here.

I do hope you have submitted your DxDiag report alongside telling them that it works for you on the Launcher but not Steam in your case, as it will be assisting them to isolate why that is the case compared to other similar systems where it is not.

This would be far less frustrating if we had some status updates on the state of the fix instead of a forum post and dead silence.

It's not working for Polish location :( KSIVA: not connected / CSB: not connected / Env: Not connected. I can see only some GV numbers... It is asking to choose the best location and then it crashes. :( Hope it will be ready till the end of next month :) Right now I will wait and play PUBG and CSGO :) Sorry :) GooD Luck Support and Developers!

Mortal, Hook me up withg a hat bro?? I have been a quake player since '96, Cant you guys show a truly dedicated quake player some love =p,
Cheers & now get some advertising besides me & others to show that QC is the best (most fun & highest skill) Multiplayer FPS out !!!!!!!

Hey guys.

After a lot of troubleshooting, I did the following yesterday and QC seems to play nice with my computer finally.

-Used Bethesda Launcher instead of Steam
-Uninstalled the VC 2015 Runtime and had the Bethesda Launcher reinstall it.
-Disabled Stardock Windowblinds

The latter is probably the culprit. If you use any Stardock software, I recommend you disable it to see what happens.

Don't worry about the server field if you're reporting a crash before the game has finished loading, if you've crashed in a match and happen to have stored the "KSIVA" shown at the bottom of the screen from a screenshot or replay video, enter that
