Does this game have quad damage?

I always liked playing oldschool doom games / unreal tournament, the main thing that turned me off from older quakes was that it was a powerup camping game.. Whoever held the quad won.. and that's not something I enjoyed at all..

I don't want to pay 40$ for this and realize that it's like that too.. Can someone confirm if it's like that or not please?

Quad Damage is indeed in the game (it's Quake, why wouldn't it be here?), but it won't win you the game on its own to be honest. Also the game does a much better job of telling everyone in the match when the Quad is about to spawn, so there's not much need to camp it.

In the Sacrifice mode it has a chance to spawn Protection instead. Just figured I'd mention that it seems like there will be more powerups eventually.

It will become F2P once the official release happens. The champions pack just unlocks all the champions at the start.

It takes turns spawning quad/protection in Sacrifice.

Everyone fights for it in deathmatch and team deathmatch, so it's definitely a game changer if you have a good run with it.

In duels and sacrafice it was removed.

No, it's still in sacrifice - and it was never in duels to begin with.

Likes Quake and other arena based games but dislikes the thing that makes it a rush to play? Getting Quad/Damage Amplifier (in UT) doesn't necessarily win you the game. You still have to be somewhat good to pull it off. I've gotten Quad a few times in matches and I might get 1-2 kills or 0 depending on who I'm playing with or if I get ambushed by a team.

There was never any need to camp anything. A good player would look at the clock when they picked up quad and figure out when it was going to respawn...
