you won't buy a game because of a skin?
We will truly miss you.

I bought a gfx card just for the skin. It costed around 100 bucks. Totally worth it imo.

But beware if you plan to buy the skin from some random guy on the internet: you need proof that you actually bought the card if it the code that came with the card hasn't been redeemed for the real Quake Champions code (yeah, you trade a code for a code). I had to send them the invoice.

This...

I understand that some people like having everything unlocked and seeing something locked because it is unlockable due to something that is out of their control can be stupid and frustrating. I personally only keep one skin (my favorite one) for each character. I sell the rest for shards until all weapon skins are unlocked.

I myself am an achievement hunter and like them all unlocked, but if a game won't let me get 1 because of some stupid reason, it would not prevent me from getting the game if the game is good. I buy the game for the gameplay, what comes with it is a bonus.

Wow....all that trouble for a skin? and not even her most beautiful or THAT beautiful ? You basically paid for a skin 100$ (which looks more like an armor shader)while the game is 30-40. I don't see how that is worth it. Not sure what this generation of players are thinking. I have a 1080TI and should buy a gxf card simply to unlock a skin and won't even use that card to play? There must be something I'm missing or I'm just too normal for todays game generation.

People saying ID has no idea what it's doing are wrong. Nowadays it is easy to sell a game. Just put a few clothes/skins in a game, charge for them, people will go nuts, won't even buy the game for the game. These devs understood that. Same for PUBG where idiots pay 300$ for a drawn skirt.

It has be going on for more than 10 years ever since tf2 came into play. It's like every other luxury, rich people will buy it just cause.

I am all about spending, but I gotta know why I give my money away. I paid my pc 3000$ without the monitor, mouse or keyboard, just for the tower and inside parts. I am not rich but I have no problems spending money for something that is WORTH it. A good phone is worth spending on, but paying 250$ to be able to set a particular lock /home screen on it, is not worth it, it's stupid (just an e.g. of course).

A stupid skin is NOT worth it, not 100$ for sure (3x the game's worth), no matter how rich. Actually most rich people don't spend money on such things, otherwise they wouldn't be rich. When I was a kid I used to work in a supermarket and I have seen poor people being much more generous giving away the little they have as a tip than some people that came to the cashier with an 400$ receipt.

Anyways it is just my personal opinion.

Ah, got you. The main reason I don't bat an eye to spending $100 on a virtual item is because I know I can sell it back for what I paid for. I feel that is the reason why a lot of people do spend the money. There is no risk if you know when to buy.

What's wrong with tulpa Nyx? She's so much more fierce!

The existence of things like the AMD-only skin do bug me, I can't deny it, and the inability to 100% a game has turned me from purchasing in the past, but I made an exception here. I decided I wanted to get in on the ground floor of something new and competitive. I couldn't pass up the opportunity here.

Trust me, I wish I didn't care about the skin. It some kind of "everything or nothing" disorder I got while I was growing up. If I miss out on an pre-order item, and there's no way to get that item, I refuse to buy that game, even if I want to play the game really bad. Could be because of the way I got treated. I have no idea tbh.
