lol he's trolling, if you check his profile, he hasent played the game recently. hell, it hasent recorded a single minute of playtime :P
He's probably using the Steam key in DCS World, which wouldn't show up on his profile here.
Try to unbind the zoom key from the settings then re-bind it again.. I had similar problems when i added a zoom keybind to my joystick.
EDIT: Keybind for Engines to idle is RIGHT {modifier} + home. Left won't work.
That's all there is to it. Order is important but if you follow those steps exactly you will get your engines running.
Can't help you with the zoom as I have it mapped to a axis. You're making sure you are mapping it under the correct aircraft/(game-sim-mode)? The game has different keybinds depending on the 'mode' your playing in.
Sorry it didn't work. Next thing you can try is what Strider said, check the binds from the right page. If you are flying in 'game' mode, lots of the buttons are different from simulation. Like V for example, in simulation it's wide/narrow view from your targeting pod, in game(arcade) it targets next enemy.
I appreciate the response, but my issue is not learning the start up procedure. I was working my way through the start up tutorial, taking notes, learning the correct order in which to start the A-10. When i get to the point where it requires me to set left engine to idle, i hit the keyboard shortcut and nothing happens.
I have double checked in my control settings, i am running simulation mode, and in simulation control settings, right Alt + Home is default, yet it does nothing..
This is the same exact issue that im having with "Zoom in slow".. ive triple checked the correct key bindings in the control settings, yet it simply does not work in-game. Ive even tried what StoneCold313 said, and rebound the command to something different. Still nothin.
I can live w/o zoom in slow, just memorize all the switches and never actually read the text, but it's kinda hard to do anything when you cant start the engines, heh..
Just one thing. In your first post you said LEFT {modifier} + home to start a engine. That is incorrect. Not sure if it was just a typo, but it's RIGHT {modifier} + home. Left will not work:)
If you really are sure your doing everything right and this thread runs out of ideas bring it over to DCS's forums. I'm sure someone there can get it straightened out.
Thanks again for the help! Ya, looking back i do notice i put left alt, but i meant right alt.. either way though after right alt + home failed, i tried a dozen different keys + home just incase. Im sure im just being a major noob, but it seems very simple enough. I'll try the DCS forums, thx for the suggestion.
