Game Time line

Hello,
I just bought every SAO game i could. would someone be able to roughly give me a break down on the timeline between these games? Im not sure which one i should be playing first and how i should play them in order. Do they match with the shows/movie? Or does it not matter?

Hollow Fragment - Lost Song - Hollow Realization - Fatal Bullet - Alicization

The games take place in an alternate timeline, where the game didn't end after defeating Kayaba.

me just now realizing my game library already organized the list in order on how i should play them! FACEPALM

Yeah i have already dove 72 hours into hollow realization by mistake, and iv been using M&k cause i don't have a controller to use. Ill tell you what this has been a really tough adjustment with the set up on here, definitely going to buy a controller on my next pay day, any recommendations? But thank you!! Big SAO fan and very pumped to start playing the games.

Wait, Hollow Realization isn't the first part in the game series?
I was kinda confused about some characters who showed up in the game, or some events I knew nothing about, but I just assumed that it follows the LN story and not the anime - also, Hollow Fragment was released in 2018, while Hollow Realization released in 2017.

Or is Hollow Fragment a prequel that was released after HR?

No, Fragment is the first game released. It came after Realization to Steam, but it was originally a PlayStation game.

oh im glad you said that, I have an old ps3 controller in storage and i never thought about it!

Im glad I wasnt the only one to accidentally start realization first ahha

If you also got the 'Accel World vs Sword Art Online' game, this stands separate from the storyline but would take place after Lost Song.
