Save file sharing to unlock Multiplayer?

Is it possible for one person to unlock all of the content then share the save file and both play together?

Trying to see if that will work and also if the multiplayer unlock is character specific or if my friend can make a new character and play.

Nope it's based on player progress. It's scripted that you can't start multiplayer until defeat the boss of Rustoria Plains. I've never tried save-sharing but you can't create a new character without overwriting your save data

well in theory you could because even if its based on player progress said progress would be recorded within the shared save file and you can always edit any avatar that is recorded within the save file so no need to create a new game.. the only prevention would be if the steam id is injected into the save file if so the save wouldn't load unless logged into the affiliated account... but theoretically it is still possible
